  • Fess up dudes!

I know some of us weren't always Roosters supporters.

If anyone wasn't originally let us know when you saw the light and why?

I used to follow the Bulldogs then when SL happened I gave them up and followed my second team before then which was Roosters. A far better decision than my brother who followed the Dragons.

There was many attempts as a youngster to brain wash me into a Sharks fan and Peachey is a long time favourite of mine. So I guess you could say I was a Sharks fan for a little while.

Watching Freddy in the latter years of the 90s though had me sold.

Long line of magpies fans. Went to all the magies games growing up. Played junior magies. Also sold by Freddy. He just had it. Broke my family's heart getting that first rooster jersey with fittler 6 on the back.

The sun rises and sets in the east. 44 years since I was 5, I can't remember life without the roosters in it. Had they gone to super league I still would have followed them, I can't even imagine anything else.

Always have been and will always be a roosters fan, in fact if the roosters aren't in the comp I'll probably have a scant interest and watch the occasional game of NRL

My pop & dad both followed the Roosters & from as young as I can remember Ive always been going to Roosters games. Ive never really thought about following another team but I have liked players from other clubs. I loved Steve Mortimer even though Horrie was my favourite Rooster player at the time. I grew up in Drummoyne & used to go over to Leichhardt Oval with my mates from around the area who followed Balmain so I also liked Greg Olipahant , Allan McMahon & Larry Corowa.

              I didn't have a choice really.

I remember my dad driving to the old Sports Ground in the Kingswood and i asked him "why do we hate Souffs so much" He replied "we just do son. we just do"

Now my kids love the Roosters and enjoy game day in the Chookpen. They also hate Souffs which makes me proud.

They're busy teenagers however this is something we get to do together.

Never anything but Easts for me even though I now live in the Blue Mountains. Dad was born and raised at Bronte and is a mad chooks fan. I was born at War Memorial Hospital Waverly, Clovelly Public and Randwick North High. Will always be an Eastern Suburbs boy at heart even though I've been gone a long time. I've only ever loved my Chooks and if they cease to be or even Merge i will never follow anyone else.

Dad went for the Roosters so I did as well.

Stuck that way all my life.

I fell in love with the RWB in 75. Liked LEague in 74 but Beetson Reilly, Harris, Brass....let alone Fairy and the Shu. Even Elywyn Walters was my hero.
I love this club. My son loves the club. It completes me

I was a Steelers fan... lived in Austinmer as a tiny kid so they were the local team.

During the merger I didn't have a team to support because I hated the Dragons with a passion (it'd feel like cheering for the guy who did the dirty with your mrs behind your back... yuck).

About that time we moved to Paddington and I did my running training at ES Mark's. The Roosters NYC team trained there and I saw them as my logical team to support because I was pretty friendly with them as a kid.

Dad was always a big supporter. He took me to my first game ever in 1987 when I was 10 years old. The game was at Brookvale and we lost but I was hooked. Steve Morris was standing in front of me when Manly kicked off so he was the first Rooster player I ever knew. Hugh McGahan quickly became my favourite. I now have 2 boys who are also keen Roosters. So in my family we have 3 generations of Roosters. Following any other team would not be acceptable, of course!

Only watched Broncos games as a kid cause dad was an avid fan, never liked them tho. Got on the raiders hype in 94? When they lost to the dogs in the gf? But in 2000 I started working for Michael Hagans sister and footy came back into my life, had to pick a team, mum said why not roosters? (she grew up eastern subs) I liked fittler and mini is my age, 02 premiership bandwagon I hitched a ride and never got off yewwww
