If those rumours are true and Sonny has been offered a three year deal with NZRU then there's no way he'd turn it down, I don't think. He'd obviously make more money in European or Japanese rugby but given his Adidas ambassadorial role (along side the likes of Messi, Derrick Rose and Andy Murray)...for which he gets paid a considerable sum, I don't think he's motivated by the millions on offer in Europe. I also think he's family is settled well in NZ or at least that's how it seems...

So, if it's not SBW and it's not Hayne (which I don't think it will be), then yes, I agree...we might have a pre-season like 2013.

Nicely said Mickey. Most if the time I don't understand why he is banned when other posters get away with more offensive behaviour. We need a mix of all types of personalities and opinions on here or it just gets very boring.

This year is a right off, forget it, it's over.

No point rushing to re-new either Pearce or Hastings who both come off contract end of next year at the exact same time Moses, Johnson and Hunt and a host of other halves. Use the rest of this year to determine if either are worthy of an extension, develop Nikorima who I think can be a dynamic half and chase a gooden coming off contract if either or both fail to impress.

I'd be looking to offload Topou and Copely get Ferguson into the centres and confident in defence along with SKD and Burgess outside him.

Pigs are pretty settled, I'm just hoping they mesh again for the remainder of the year. I'd let Sam Moa go and keep Matterson who has the makings of a ball playing back rower.

But for the sake of fark, we don't need to rush into a stupid decision.

I'd be chasing a quality 5/8 for 2 seasons regardless of what happens to Hastings. Id be happy to let Moa go to free up cap space. Agree with continuing to develop matterson and nikorima. Matterson for a ball playing forward and half cover and Niko to be hooker cover until he's ready. As much shit as tupou cops I don't think there's a better winger for what we're paying him. He took a pay cut to stay and is on about 250k. For an origin playing and premiership winger that's not bad if you can deal with the occasional brain explosions. He can create something out of nothing which not many wingers can.

If tupou is on $250k, then that is $250k too much.

And you are right, he can create something out of nothing - for the opposition with his multitude of pathetic errors every game

The centre may indeed maketh the winger. So perhaps it's not always tupous fault when he's had a defensive spastic in Ferguson, an injured skd, a spud in Copley, a flog in Guerra and an out of position aubo in the centres for us this year.
