There is one burning question league fans will ask many times over the next 12 months - how can the Roosters afford both Sonny Bill Williams and Jarryd Hayne in 2017?
The Roosters have the pair in their crosshairs - and what Nick Politis wants, he often gets.
The Roosters are prepared to go to any lengths to secure the two mega-stars - and are already putting plans in place.
I’m hearing their next move - after releasing game-winning centre Michael Jennings to Parramatta last month - will be to but loose representative back-rower Boyd Cordner for next year.
Manly are keen on Cordner and while the Roosters rate him highly, they believe SBW - who led them to the premiership a couple of years ago - offers far greater value.
Look for Manly to open talks with Cordner in coming weeks.

Who has actually confirmed that we are going to sign SBW other than the Chookpen? Why is Hayne's second year in the NRL a guaranteed failure and his last before it has even begun? Why would Hayne, who has displayed a remarkable singularity in his vision and process cozy up to people backing and banking on him to fail?
Uncle Nick does not actually always get what he wants. That is a myth perpetuated by people who believe Easts and their supporters are superior and elite. Remember Wayne Bennett? RTS? Need I go on?

I would be stunned though if Cordner is not retained.

Short answer....not a snowflakes chance in hell that will happen.
Firstly, he needs to be registered with a club before the June 30 deadline, and there is no way the NRL would contemplate a contract which sees him skip out of town for a month and go and play for a rival code.
You sure on that?
