The only logical reason I can see Farah coming to us is that he will have a better chance at winning another comp with Wyong than the Tigers NSW Cup team.

Farah would expect to get decent game time and there is no need to for Friend in the back row. We have plenty of depth there. It defies logic why we would go for him even if it was for $100K.

It reeks of when Anasta undermined Carney to eventually get his number 6 back. Farah is more than capable of doing the same for Friend.

He adds nothing positive but plenty of negatives.

I always thought Willie Mason ripped our club apart - can see Farah doing the same thing.
There's a reason why the young and idealistic become the old and cynical.
      It's called experience.

He is no Mason. And we are a much different club.

I don't see attitude being a problem at all if he comes.

My problem is that there is no space for him.

Positives - experience and he can lay on a try (which is much needed without Maloney and Roger).

Negatives - team balance plus he is a massive hog.

I see it as a positive. Tigers will have to pay out his contract at $1.7 million remaining which means we will get him cheap. Also, if he understands that he will be coming off the bench then it can work as his big game experience with a good halves pairing, a dominant forward pack and a top backline that money can buy....

            I agree with that.

With the shorter interchange rules, having a player of the calibre of Farah/Friend on the bench to come on with 10mins to go will be massively beneficial. Both of them can take advantage of tiring forwards, both are high quality players.

In Robbo's eyes, he's getting that minimum contract interchange player (McIllwrick, L'Estrange, Seluini) but in reality thanks to Tigers cap dramas we are getting a SOO captain to fulfill that role at the same $$$ McIllwrick was effectively doing it at.

Alternatively, it also provides Robbo with an option of playing Farah at 9 and Friend at 13, which gives us 4 playmaking options on the field. With RTS/Maloney leaving, this helps fill that gap considering Fergo wont be the best ball playing FB. I think Robbo may look to use Fergo as more of a running FB with a good support game rather than push Fergo to learn play making as well.

Let's not forget Farah's experience as well. In tight games, having him come on with 15-20 mins to go will be massively beneficial.

However in saying all of that, if I was POS/Canavan/Robbo I would still be pushing much harder for a top line FB but TIT!

I rate Farah, highly. I think on his day only Thurston & Cam Smith can match him for pure dominance and influence over a result. Some of his club seasons have been the best in recent memory by any single player.

I just don't see him as a successful impact player though, he's someone who needs to get a feel for the game, control the tempo of the game, work over individual players in the opposition for prolonged periods of time and have strong combos with the teammates around him.

100k makes it extremely tempting but he's just not a player we need.

Buy them all and sort out where they go later. But fwiw I don't think he'll come. The tigers are already a laughing stock. Paying someone 500k+ to play for another side when you've already let one of your most promising forwards go is just idiotic. I think another club will get farah on a bigger deal. Here or overseas.

Possibly the dumbest move the club has ever made. I need a lay down.

                    I'm coming around to this.

Despite what many of you think, he's undoubtedly a great player. Clever and as Tobin said, he can lay on a try.

We lack a bit of experience too, and you need that balance of youth and experience in a squad. An old head to help steer the ship wouldn't hurt us at all.

Also, if the Tigers are footing the bill then where's the harm in that?

Experience would have made a big difference in Brisbane.

If the bloke was a fullback then it'd make perfect sense. A quality, experienced player in a position of need.

As it is he plays the one position we absolutely don't have any need to recruit for. Friend can interchange with Aubo or Nikorima if need be. Also, signing Farah would surely piss Nikorima off as it puts him down the pecking order considerably.

We seem like we're in a bit of a panic atm, tbh.

Me too. It made no sense at first but if you can pick up the NSW State of Origin captain at the same price as our other back up dummy half options (or thereabouts) then sign him and let him play that role at that fee.

Thank god it looks like the Farah circus has abated, and he'll stay at Wests Tigers, and not haunt us. Our club needs to get there heads back on right, and no more of those brain explosions. We dodged a bullet here..
