Good move too , considering we don't play touch football.
Better move when someone finally prised Lam outta the team with a pinch bar or something.

The Roosters are understood to have discussed a base salary deal for Farah worth about $100,000 a season. There was talk of other clubs having loosely discussed offers, while some may be able to find about $200,000 for him.
Insiders suggest the Tigers would need a club to pay at least $300,000 a season for the NSW hooker to be granted a release from his deal.

$100,000 a season for Farah? Mcillwrick would have been on something similar.

I don't like this but at that price it might be almost worth it. Almost.

You'd be stupid to knock him back at that price. What I don't get is, why would he walk out of a deal worth about 900k if we are going to give him 100 and the tigers to pay 300? Especially as there are reports he's only signing a one year deal before an England swan song. As great as it would be to play for the chooks I can't imagine he'd be willing to give up 500k for the honour.

RF is ideal off the bench
For me there's no brains in the spine
We a need wily experience fox to replace Maloney
Him & Friend can also be on at same time depending on the scenario

Buying Farah would be as dumbass a move as the Tigers picking up Ballin. I seriously cant find any logic whatsoever in getting Farah. He is past his best and is as consistent as he once was.
What must Friend be thinking? I don't care if he is coming cheep, WE DONT NEED ANOTHER NO 9 WHO PLAYS 80 MINUTES !

                  Totally agree..
                  Our bench would possibly be
                  SST
                  Farah
                  Evans
                  Moa
                  Crazy bench

Hearing Jake Friend not entirely thrilled to hear Sydney Roosters have talked to Farah. Interesting to watch developments in coming days
Whatever ends up happening out of this Jake Friend must be the number 1 priority, he is our captain, heart of our team & future of our club.

Letting RTS go was a hiccup, unsettling another key player would be a calamity.

The good news is that apparently the position is the Tigers would be willing to release him to any side but us. So there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

And I would be amazed if they did all this without discussing it with Friend - unless he is on the outer for some reason.

I've always had a soft spot for the Tiges...looks like they feel the same way about us.

Canavan is quoted as saying, "No news as the issue lies with Wests Tigers and Farah,"

That to me says that we are well and truly in the hunt for Farah and it's up to Farah and Tigers to sort out a release. Also considering the Tigers had asked Farah to leave I don't see Farah wanting to stay, I have a weird feeling Farah will be at the Roosters in 2016.

Like everyone else I don't understand why - but I trust in Trent. The only logical thinking behind this could be, Friend to lock and Farah to hooker.

PS. Don't believe the media reports about Friend being unhappy about the Farah situation. I can almost guarantee Roosters would not have moved on Farah without speaking to Friend first. He is our captain, and Robbo and the board hold him in high regard. They will not risk upsetting him and no way would they go behind his back and try and sign another player in his position without him knowing. Robbo would have definitely discussed his plan with Farah with the senior players including Friend.

IMHO I still think we should go hard for Hiku more than Farah, but it seems like we are not even in the hunt for Hiku at all. So looks like Robbo is set on the FB spot going to Fergo/Mitchell.
