Whenever the Roosters figure in one of these games, I get worried. Let's face it, 95% of NRL fans will turn their TVs off if the Roosters are running up a cricket score and this is bad for business.

I don't think we will lose today, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Knights are given every assistance to keep the viewers engaged for as long as possible - being allowed to stand offside, slow down the ruck, a big penalty advantage etc. Definitely a game to turn the audio off too because the commentators will be playing their part in lauding our courageous opposition and denigrating the Roosters' uncharacteristic mistakes.

Last Friday nights game vs the Dogs was a perfect example albeit against a better outfit.

They award dubious tries and and their interpretation of the games rules vary depending on the scoreline. As if the Dogs 1st try was fair dinkum.

A close contest is good for business as it keeps the viewers engaged for longer.

I think where becoming better at overcoming such obvious swings in momentum that are brought about by the lopsided penalty counts.

No, they don't. But by allowing interference in the ruck and opponents to stand offside, they can certainly make it more difficult to hold onto the ball and thereby put more pressure on our defence.

I'd just like to point out that those 22 Newcastle points coincided with a period in the second half in which they received 7 penalties to 1.
