  • Club owes it to the fans

To do something structured and sustained about this handicap that we play with.

Not just the Monday letter to Tony Archer...as if that helps...or the odd reference in a press conference.

Hire someone to monitor, record and review the imbalances...table the history...and speak long enough and loud enough for change to occur.

The club owes it to the fans now....enough is clearly enough.

I can't see things changing unless we make such a stand.

We can't be hated much more by those that already do...and can't get shafted worse than we are.

Nothing to lose and the price of fairness to be gained.

Completely agree. Season will continue slipping away if we don't speak out. The NRL is too close a competition, no matter how good your side is, to be playing with such a disadvantage. The closeness is evidenced by the fact that you have the dragons coming first and teams like bulldogs, cowboys and panthers with 4-3, 4-3 and 3-4 records respectively

Every Roosters supporter sees that we are shafted every week, no wonder people don't want ro turn up to games.

To be honest, I don't think I can watch this anymore. It has got to the point that any enjoyment I got from watching the sport is spoiled by a sense of dread that, at any moment, the referee will find some way to screw us. It's meant to be entertainment, not an ordeal of high blood pressure and teeth grinding.

It's terrible knowing that someone just has to drop the ball and we get penalised.

Whatever is done needs to be from our club as a whole... From nick politis to the person who pays $55 per year for a membership.

So in not in favour of isolated fan protests as such although banners etc are fine.

Perhaps we should petition the club for action ...10000 plus signatures. They want membership s and support we want fairness and change.

The fact that long term supporters are considering walking from the game should be of major concern to the club.

Nothing we can do unfortunately . Anything we say will be perceived as whinging by the majority of the nrl and will make us even more hated by the nrl community making it easier to penalise us.

The nrl handed souffs a premiership on a silver platter last season, all they need to do know is gift the broncos and wayneker another trophy and they will be happy.

I think the idea of a petition to the club has good merit in that it doesnt work having the random fan like myself last night and othrs in the past address this eith BC a well worded letter with a few thousand sigs behond it wpuld have a bit more impact It may change nothing from the view of thr clubs position on this but it eill put them on notice thst we the fans have had enough and want spmething done QUOTE=Jacks Fur Coat;n600747]Whatever is done needs to be from our club as a whole... I can't seriously believe the any long term supporter (by which term it means this is a major part of their life) would walk away from the club over this. And if they would they are no supporter at all and won't be missed.

We are all frustrated and pissed off but none of us would stop supporting our team because of it.

It's like continually being served bad meals in a restaurant or being in a relationship that is not healthy. Everyone has the right of reply JT. There is only so much fans can take and if watching our team playing for 80 minutes doesn't bring joy or relaxation to some members as a weekend leisure activity, but frustration and annoyance and stress, then yes they do have the right to take a break and maybe not watch for a while. I stopped watching in the 1990's because I was frustrated by the Super League war and found it spoiling a game I loved so much as a child. That doesn't mean we love our footy team any less. In fact, it probably means they love it so much, its painful to watch and witness the situation Jack is referring to. When good level headed well educated friends of mine who have been following Easts far longer than I have and have a much more sound knowledge of the technical aspects of the game that me are expressing their dismay at the way the game is heading, then I do take notice. Jack is right and I believe we do need to have a technical expert compile a factual report of findings and anomalies which are affecting outcomes of games, like any consultant hired to investigated a workplace or business where the paying clients (us as paying members) are seriously considering taking their dollars and business elsewhere. Its a business with a bottom line and with dwindling crowds being very specific as to why they are not attending, then someone better sit up quickly and take notice in the near future.

Not if it is a factual report complied by someone independent, some nerdy geek with no NRL team affiliation, to present the findings. If fact, every club should employ someone in this capacity to keep the bastards honest. Geoff Toovey was actually correct in saying there has gotta be an investigation!

I feel the pain too. Believe me.

But I just don't believe anyone would walk away.

ANZAC Day will be the last game I watch for at least 2-3 months. And perhaps all season if I can see that things haven't improved.

We haven't won a penalty count all season, or in about 14 matches in total. No second half penalties in the last two games and only 9 all year.
The opposition also receive automatic penalties whenever they drop the ball in the PtB.

It is soul destroying watching our boys get absolutely ripped off almost every week. Last year was bad, especially the Preliminary Final, but somehow things have gotten even worse in 2015.

The state of officiating is in such a mess with no signs of even an acknowledgement of an issue from the NRL let alone an improvement that I can't sit through seeing us get ripped off any more. As others have stated, I too no longer even enjoy watching us play. instead I'm just waiting for the refs to rear their ugly ****ing heads and ruin a good game. Quite often with an error, but just as often by putting the whistle in their pockets when we have the ball.

Like i said I'll watch ANZAC Day because it's a special occasion. But does anyone have ANY doubt that we'll lose the penalty count? Of course we will. And so after that I'm taking a much needed break. I'll just pretend it's mid-2009 all over again!
