I agree. We are short one experienced front rower IMO. JWH is probably a year away, Kennedy is about a year and a half. Possibly more. I'd really like us to pick up James Graham or someone of similar ilk.

koops stats show he did somewhat perform this year. he had more try assists and line break assists than friend and aubs put together. i know stats dont mean everything but they do say something. he was also playing way out of position, how many second rowers could move into hooker?? it was a big ask.
obviously it was personal for some people, just like it is when they bag anasta, fpn and skd. just shows most people on here have never picked up a footy and if they did they were prob shithouse players.

He played 24 games so I doubt Smithy just started reading the comments here come semi time. Smithy used Koups to give players a rest during the year. He did his job but he was hardly a game breaker for us. That's why he wasn't used in the semis. He did some good things but did plenty of bad things. Can you just check his kicking stats? I think he did four kicks for a total of 10.5 metres inlcuding one try assist to Lote. Are you honestly surprised that Smithy didn't keep him for next year?

And yes I think most here would wish the guy the best wherever he ends up next year. I have no doubt that he is as genuine a bloke that you will find.

I have to back up redwhiteandbluester 100% on this one. It seems a lot of NRL followers do not understand the difference between criticising a player for his work and criticising another human being based on purely spiteful and hateful personal attacks.
Koups was very, very average. I don't think he is a first grade quality player at this point in his career. But what would I know? I'm actually just a nuffie idiot when it comes down to it. In any case I hope he moves on to something good and enjoys his life. If he plays good footy elsewhere most Roosters fans would be happy for him.
