I'll look into my crystal ball and I reckon at some point of the year the following players will cop it.

Mini, Perrett, SKD, J. Carney, Pearce, Anasta, FPN, Cherro, Ryles, Watts, Smithy and Koups (regardless of whether he plays or not).

Koups shouldn't be released...he should be shot out of a cannon.

      Chook.

I can counter that as POS said Ben Jones was the best young player he had seen since Gasnier. Considering he had recruited Inglis and Falou since Gasnier then you can see they often get it wrong.

Shot out of a cannon from Bondi with a trajectory headed straight back to Belmore. See you later Koups.

The whipping boy for next year should be based on merit just as it was this year. Koups earned that honour. If left on the wing it may well be BJ but I hope not. The kid is too good for that. I think he will remain a bench player with some versatility for the next year or two. Hopefully during that time he can make a legitimate claim on his own position through good play.

            Is Graham gone?

I believe Graham's still got a year to go and it will be honoured. And so it should. Weve got **** all wingers.

Even after the season he had, proving himself as consummately incompetent in almost every facet of the game, people still stick up for Kouparitsis.

He's awful, he proved it repeatedly, and it's best that he left.

he's certainly no superstar but he just isnt as bad as everyone makes out. he's an average player. every squad has them.

Agree that all teams have average players but Koups, in my opinion, was simply awful this year. I think someone like Graham is an average player. Even Daniel Conn although he improved dramatically. I think Koups lacks skills and he is certainly undisciplined. The lack of discipline and stupid mistakes was what really made me dislike him as a player. I hope he gets a contract somewhere though and does okay.

if it was only dislike for him as a player then fine, but it appeared to me the guy enjoyed playing for the club and tried his hardest even if his hardest wasnt what we expect, so i dont understand the snipes and below belt stuff aimed at him. people treat him like finchy, but i dont ever remember hearing koops to tell us to kiss his ass. in fact on the one occasion i met him, he was a very sweet well spoken gentleman.

                            I agree.

I don't understand why he is as hated as Finch.

Finch was so, so much worse. Even Mason was worse than Koups.

Koups is awfully average as a footballer. He makes errors, gives away penalties, and offers little to the side. But to compare him to someone like Finch, who did all of the above and was a complete wanker, is absurd.

He's not as bad as he's made out to be.

Mate I like your attitude. I really want to emphazise that I dislike him as a 'player', not as a human being. I am often shocked by the amount of pure hatred directed at some players. To be honest, I actually like Jamie Soward. I am going to get bagged for saying it at the moment but I mean it. I met him at the races once while he was still with the Roosters. He was such a humble, nice young kid. I really got a deep impression that he was a fine young man. He had no future with us and I am happy for him that he has been successful elsewhere. As you said Koups gave you a similar impression. I really do wish him all the best for the future. All supporters of NRL are one eyed and have teams/players they hate (including me) but I really think some take it too far. At the end of the day the players are simply young men trying to make the most out of their earning potential in what amounts to a remarkably short professional career when compared with other vocations.

I shook Sowies hand and congratulated him in the tunnel after the GF. Not his fault that our coach at the time didn't give him a chance. That same coach has been bagging him in the papers for months. I wonder what he will write now?
