Tolman is in his first full season and has just had a knee reco? To compare him to inglis is rediculous

and inglis hasn't seemed to have lost any speed so I can't see a problem with his weight, but I guess meninga couldn't maintain his weight either and was pretty useless

Maybe Inglis's problem is that he isn't happy in Melbourne???

How long is Inglis still contracted with the Storm for?

If he's released, the Storm have to make up the difference between what he is on now (including any illegal payments) and what his new club is offering him, right?

Similar to what we are doing with Mason. Although I doubt the payments the Storm have to make will count towards their cap, otherwise it would be almost impossible for them to get under it.

If both parties (Inglis and melbourne) are happy for him to go, he just goes and whoever picks him up pays him what they him, the same as if his contract had expired

If melbourne wanted him gone, and he either didn't want to go or wanted to play hardball, then melbourne would negotiate with his prospective new club to pay part of his new salary for a period of time

throwing big money at anyone does nothing to build a culture. Just look at our non-existent culture

whether that "big money" gets "thrown" at an up and comer or a superstar makes little difference. You're still making the mistake of "throwing big money"

what I do wonder about is how any Roosters supporter, who's watched this club descend into the culture-less mire that we are now in, doesn't know that
How much did your team waste on Barrett?

Who compared them as players ? They play two different positions.

One is a hard worker, trying to make a name for himself.

The other is a superstar who has achieved everything in our game. If Inglis goes missing in a team like Melbourne WTF do you think he will do behind our useless pack ?

How the **** can't a professional athlete control his weight ? He gets paid to look after his body, which he uses on the field. If that doesn't give you an indication as to his personality, nothing will.

Comparing him to Mal ? LOL

They played in different eras you fool. When Mal played, half of those bloke's nutrition consisted of McDonalds, sports science was unheard of and pure athletes were far in between.

In today's competitions, the majority of players are in top shape and physically powerful. Individual talent does not get you as far anymore.

Inglis is a freak, however for the amount of money that he will command he is a risk signing due to his attitude.

You want a talented outside back ?
Chase's brother - Kyle Stanley is a gun. Bennet rates him highly and is displaying his faith by starting him tonight instead of the more experienced Lett.

He wouldn't cost and arm either.

1- didnt say anything about comparing them as players, comparing them as potential signings is what i was saying is rediculous

2- like i said who says he doesnt want to get bigger, he hasnt lost any speed or agility, still makes defenders look stupid so why wouldnt he want extra size

3- yes? at the end of his career i think he will be regarded as the best centre ever, he is only 23

4- inglis isnt physically powerful? talent hasnt got him anywhere?

                              1. How is it ridiculous ? One would eat up our salary cap like no tomorrow, the other, we could of picked up for a decent price. Granted Inglis is the best centre in the game, he is prone to going missing, while Tolman is a warhorse who still has plenty to prove.
Inglis signing smells of a quick cash grab.

                              2. I don't really know what you are trying to say but let me clear something up for you. Fat does not make you more powerful. It is essentially dead weight. If he lost that fat, he wouldn't lose any power, in fact he will improve his acceleration and speed. Go run 50 metres and time it, then repeat with a 5kg weight vest, you will see the difference. Who cares if he can still perform at this weight, all that means is that he will perform even better without the extra weight.

                              3. I never disagreed that he will go down as one of the greats. I just don't think he will perform in our club, a club he couldn't really care less about.
Also remember, all of his achievemnts came from playing in an illegal team as well as star-studded rep teams.

                              4. Again, i don't see what you are trying to say as i never said that Inglis isn't powerful or talented. I specifically noted that the gap between the talented players and the rest of the field has become smaller due to each NRL player being athletically competent. As opposed to those days when some players couldn't run around the oval twice.

Ok, either read the posts in their context or don't comment.

I said Kyle Stanley would be a great value signing. Young and skillful with a big future ahead of him. Won't break the bank if he comes here and underperforms.
