why is Ben Jones still being used as a fill in centre? Regardless of his try yesterday, he isn't a centre, and will never be a centre. Why not give Blair or Williamson or at least someone who is actually an outside back an opportunity?

Will there ever be a time when we have some pace and flair out wide?

I'm not going to write off Carney at fullback yet. I like the look of Minichiello and Perrett on the wings actually, both are proven at fullback, and hence they are very good under the high ball, with positional play, with one-on-one defence, and have huge workrates that allows Carney to play the role of occasionally injecting himself rather than stacking on the hitups and yardage.

Jones is not a centre, and Kouparitsas is not a hooker. I maintain that Jones is best at the centre of the field, where his scoots from DH are most dangerous and his defence is with the forwards rather than isolated on the edges of the ruck.

we need to learn how to defend full stop.
Its not about tackling, its about line speed and stopping the attack getting over the advantage line.

Then there was tackling , 21 missed tackles in 20 mins.
That was a team effort, a pretty piss poor team effort.

That's right. It wasn't our individual defence that should be a concern, it was our team defence. We weren't moving up off our line and meeting them (especially on the goal line, where we were actually retreating). We weren't dominating and ganging in tackles. We weren't covering gaps. We weren't moving fast enough. It all came down to effort, not technique. You could tell the team was tired, when they start arm grabbing, it means they have no juice left in the tank

yea i agree and with graham and skd in the centres who have both spent time on the wing as well and maubs and symonds in the backrow who have played centre as well its almost as if we play with 3 fullbacks at times with everyone shifting out one spot on the edges and i think it has the potential to work wonders and has looked pretty good so far. I dont think our backline is the issue tbh. Carney, Anasta and Pearce are definitely doing well enough and i think between jaubs and friend, the hooking spot is well covered with ben jones in there as well. We seem more than capable of scoring points. Even yesterday; everytime we were on the attack we either came up with points or were just denied - the FPN 'forward pass' etc.

I can't blame SKD for all of it and Ben didn't get any support.
But I agree....Carney to 5/8th and Anasta to lock freeing Myles for the prop.
