Benny Jones playing out of position against a monster of a centre only has two scored on him... plus he scored the best try for the chooks.
ps SKD looks like the biggest gumby when he runs... he is the new todd byrne!!!

Cogburn, don't tell me you have gone soft and now accept SKD's medicrity ?!?!
I was hoping you'd be in my corner in regards to sending this bloke back down to reserve grade.

an outsider's opinion -
* move Minichiello to fullback... defensively sound, good support play, good positioning
* Carney to five eighth where he belongs
* SKD is at best a winger only
* Anasta to lock
* the club needs to recruit at least one more prop... there are only 3 first grade standard props in the Roosters current rotation
* Kouparitsas is not a hooker

The problem with moving Anasta to lock now, is the emergence of Guerra. Myles and Aubs are definite picks for the backrow and Guerra is looking great.
Leave Carney at FB, there will be plenty of times this season that he will get found out at FB, that's just part of the process. Nobody had a problem with his attacking prowess in the last two weeks, matter of fact everyone loved the move.
I'm sure Carney and Smith knows what he has to do after today and both will be trying to fix it next week. Look for a big game from him.

but it is defensively that i have always had concerns --> positioning, one-on-one defence, defusing bombs etc.
overall, i think Carney is potentially the best five eighth in the game considering Lockyer's age whereas he is a gamble from fullback

It is hard to judge Ryles as he wasn't quite right last week but Frank Paul is universaly loved because he was the only the prop for the first half of 2009 to run straight, who knows what has happened to Lopini Paea but he does not have the impact of a Shamwow and the rest of the 'depth' forwards are just not up to it.
