It's just logical.

[b]The proposed NRL reforms currently being pushed to all 16 clubs include:
● A seven-member board with at least three independent directors.
● At least one female representative on every club board.
● Less tolerance of misbehaviour.
● Greater accountability across all levels of the game.
● An independent chairman at every club.
The boardroom overhaul will put Smith on a collision course with some of rugby league’s most powerful figures, with the NRL proposing every club chairman be nominated from one of the three independent directors.

The NRL is trying to take control of our club?

So, that means Jake Friend would've been booted out of our club, never to be seen in the NRL again...when as a younger man he messed up some?
Instead of counselling him and helping him get his life back on track like we did.
Pearce would've been a gonna under the NRL's new plan...sacked...bye bye never to be seen again in the NRL.
Likely along with;
Gallen
Mason
Stewart
Tamou
Thaiday
Boyd
Jennings
Watmough
Gasnier
Thurston
Sailor
SBW
Matua
etc...to name but a few.
It'd be 'park football'...sure the fans would be flocking to watch that.
Time for Mr Smith to go back to Wales and take the "NRL reformers" with him.
Break out our lawyers!

What a fine, responsible, trustworthy organisation they turned out to be.
You do know that they constantly undervalued the game due to their conflict of interest, costing the game hundreds of millions? Nah, course you don't.

...and we were in control of and running our club, ourselves...and not 'independent board members' appointed by the NRL.
NRL can't even put out a draw correctly...how are they gonna run our club properly.
Have the juniors passes been sent out yet? ...it's now July.
Hadley has told us all.
So we have to have 3 Souths supporters 'independent board members' [everyone has a team] on our board to run our club?
...or 2 Souths supporters and one Eels supporter?
And a Souths supporter Chair 'independent Chair' running our club?
Bye bye Sydney Roosters and Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club.
If the Club falls for this nonsense they're crazy.
