        A WHOLE BALL?

Please though inform me how "Sydney Roosters" is part of this little tradition we have left? Maybe if you actually chose to read my posts you'd realise I'm in full support of going back to Eastern Suburbs. I just think some people are making something out of nothing, a mere thought and some would put Politis in the chair.

Which of course didn't happen so the club is quite sensibly re-identifying itself with the heartland. Which Bondi still is, which anyone who was actually in Bondi Junction on GF night in 2002 would know.
Well, it has ten more yrs of tradition over the "bondi roosters" you imbecile. The name change to the Sydney Roosters (in 2000) had nothing to do with the superleague war in 1995.

So maybe the other 8 sydney based clubs are a figment of my imagination. lol

So bondi is the same suburb as bondi junction? Maybe you think NZ is the same country as Australia.

Please remind me the last time we were called the "Bondi roosters" little chicken.

Bondi is for backpackers, i suppose it matches our transit lounge image.

What the fark is wrong with old fashioned, traditional Eastern Suburbs Roosters if they want to stuff around with the name again?

Is there anything that connects the Roosters with Bondi over the rest of the eastern suburbs other than the fact the Club is at the junction??

It amazes me that the Club is actually wasting time and energy, not to mention money debating this. Haven't they alienated enough supporters in the past few years without making any more shortsighted decisions.

The club was renamed Sydney City in the mid 90s and it had everything to do with the Super League war. The change to Sydney in 2000 was just a shortening of that.

Yes, there are a number of other Sydney clubs. In the Super League era, the Roosters hoped to be the only Sydney club left, hence they called themselves Sydney. The name is now totally irrelevant and obselete, and pretty stupid considering there are numerous other Sydney clubs. Geddit??

Yeah effectively Bondi and the junction are the same place for the sake of this argument. Its really not like Australia vs NZ at all. You're just embarrasing yourself now.

What a disgrace to even consider that name. Sydney Roosters sounds like a Powerhouse, bondi roosters are about as relevant at the cronulla shire. It even makes Souths SYDNEY sound more powerful. Bondi roosters, a little unknown nuffy team, only for the elitist.

For a team that so called prides itself on tradition, yet changes our identity every few yrs. What next, change our emblem to a rooster on a surfboard?

And what about Newtown or our narrellan club. At least they now has some meaning under the umbrella of "Sydney".
spot on mate, what pisses me off is that if that goes through (which in my opinion isnt going to happen) souffs will be the only club left with the word 'Sydney' in their name.

like many have said, the only name change in can cop is going back to being Easts.

It would be one of the clubs worst decisions ever made.

Of course it would be the most sensible option to revert back to Eastern Suburbs which I think will end up happening. But to chose out of an option between Bondi and Sydney to represent the Roosters then I would pick Bondi. The whole 'Sydney' thing is rubbish... it dosen't relate to the Roosters as a club.

Thanks for calling me little chicken, so sweet of you

Keep it as the Sydney Roosters.

there is no problem with having a name that aims to emcompass the Sydney Area.

if there is a Name change, the only option is Eastern Suburbs, it is our herritage, it is our history, it is as simple as that !!!!
