Off topic and you'll probably disagree but I think that (Cheers) was the best show ever to come out of America. I'm thinking Seinfeld is your favourite but for mine Cheers is No.1. The Simpsons is up there, Get Smart and the early editions of MASH.

At the very bottom would be 'Friends' (all two episodes I could bare to watch), then daylight and a plethora of contrived drivel that cater to the brain dead fools who need their humour served on a dinner plate for them to understand.

Form is temporary......class is permanent, well until it is time to give it away.

I reckon they will blow some team off the park in the next couple of weeks and you watch the rest of the comp start to shake in their booties......I just wish it happens sooner rather than later.

Have u watched season 4 which only got released last year after a 4 year wait?
I haven't had the chance yet and would like to know if much changed after the long hiatus.

I enjoyed season 4 but know a lot of people who didn't.

The humour in it is still as good as ever but it's a different format. Each episode revolves around one character as they catch you up on their life but the storyline isn't linear so you have to watch all 15 episodes to understand the story line & it is hard to keep up with at times. Probably the most disappointing thing was the lack of character interaction. Because they're all in such high demand now it was a struggle to get the cast together at one time so there's far less character interaction than there was in the first 3 series.

Still so much better than other comedy shows on TV. Worth the watch if you're and AD fan. 1 more season to go, then the movie!

                    Cheers 6.

Yeah actually surprised they got the whole cast together after being off for years, as long as jobe is in it, then all good.

Just watching the Seinfeld finale again now. What a cast of characters over the years turning up for the court room scenes. I've never had a show infiltrate my every day life so much when it comes to one liners and silly quotes. Even work colleagues 20 years younger than me are well versed in the sayings and mannerisms of the characters. 'Frasier' is actually my 2nd favourite sitcom and Cheers doesn't even make it on my radar. I do love Lilith though and she is my role model A friend got me into 30 Rock which I record 4 nights a week from SBS2. Jerry makes a guest appearance too at some stage but I'll need to youtube that episode. I liked Friends in its day but I never bought the DVD's nor do I bother recording the repeats. I've gone retro these days with Laverne and Shirley as well.

I'm watching re-runs of Cheers as we speak. It's up to the last year of Shelley Long's tenure and you can see she's phoning it in. A pre-scientology/fat camp Kirstie Alley (and the permanent fixture of Frasier Crane) vastly improved the show.

Friends was only tolerated because every man wanted to root Jennifer Aniston. Much like Kat Denning's tits on Two Broke Girls, it's a hook used to make people ignore the crap.

Hands down the best season of any show I ever saw was the first year of the John Larroquette show from 1993. That was so dark, so warped that NBC pooped their britches and ruined a great show. They flatly refuse to release it on DvD because they know they screwed up. I have ancient vhs copies that I've had to transfer as the years have gone on.

It died a horrific death, NBC buried the body and didn't leave a grave marker. NBC has committed more murders than the Indian Thuggees.
