Time for everyone to stop believeing their own bullshit.

If Mason is indeed not wanted at the club, then why are we holding onto him? If he has breached protocol, sack him. If he wants out, release him. It wont cost us jack if Mason is the cause of the contract termination.

But if we are serious, if Brian Smith is serious, if Mason isnt the problem, get him on the paddock and get him running. There is no more devestating forward at Easts than Mason. Thats a fact. Rylles included. If Smith is serious, he'd stop playing mind games (famous for that isnt he?), and get the big oaf training.

But Smith isnt serious is he. he's still easing into the complex political landscape at Moore Park. Smith is an animal you'll all get to hate in time. But thats another story.

Why doesnt Nick terminate Mason if he's such a problem? Maybe its a perceived problem. Maybe the Telegraph has got to everyone.

Im all for removing cancers. Finch being a point in case. So if Mason is a cancer, cut him out. Why arent they?

New CEO Melon: "Willie, you want to go?,....there's the door. Go find a Union contract on your OWN time, not mine. You want to play, get your fat arse onto the paddock and start running."

Its that easy. It IS that easy.

Maybe the cancer isnt Mason. Maybe too many people have been swallowing to much agenda driven bullshit? Maybe the cancer stems from the Roosters supporter base. God forbid if any of us are contributing unknowingly to the fall of this club.....think about it.

Bottom line. If Easts really want to get rid of Mason, and if they have grounds they should have already done it.

You answer your own question with the last line. They obviously don't have the grounds.

oK then. So they DONT have teh grounds. MEaning Mason has done nothing that he should be sacked for. Correct?

So where's the love? Get him training. Get Smith playing him wide, and watch him smash every line left right and centre. get him. If they are good enough...good enough, they will nake him perform. There in lies the answer.

Get it? or is there something else? Something that has supporters spewing like idiots?

They can't tear up his contract, but they want him gone. They've realised he isn't worth $400K. So, rather that pay him $400K and send him on his way, or pay him $400K to play for Newtown, they'd prefer it if someone else signed him and that way they get the best of both worlds. He's gone, and they've saved $400K

          It's pretty straightforward

We need to hold onto Mason for one more year because I really think he will be very dominant next year, whoever he plays for. He will be out to prove many people wrong, especially the coach. I agree with Melon, if he has done nothing wrong, let him train and see his contract out.

Yeah...add a rampaging FPN to the mix and we've got some size and speed to dent and bruise the opposition...

I'm starting to warm to next years pack...a lot of potential there to be one of the best packs in the comp...

Ahhhh...so they REALISED hes not worth 400K. If thats why they want him out then suck shit Easts. As I said in another thread, Mason didnt ruin Easts, they rotted from the core out.

They ****ed up paying overs, just like they ****ed up with bennett, Harrison, and a host of other badly managed initiatives, and now they want to play the man.

Simple solution. Mason aint going anywhere on those grounds. Get him running and supporting the pack. He is needed out there playing well. believe me...our forwards are young and need some older heads. Ryles isnt the complete answer. Mason is only part of it too, but experience talks.

And its hightime Management and the hangers on started making SMART decisions. School's over. Hopefully these **** nuckles have learnt the hard way.

Put me on that list as well.
He's either playing well enough to benefit our pack, or he's helping to put bums on seats at Newtown games.
                    Its a win/win situation.

                      FPN
                      Ryles
                      Mason
                      Myles
                      JWH
                      Lopini

A couple of cocnuts in there, but there's some size and agression. If Mason pulls his finger out, this pack could be anything.

                      The key?

                      B. Smith has to want him there. Brian Smith needs to Wine Dine and 69 MAson. Stroke the ego, get the big shit firing.

problem? B. Smith blows no man. Problem.

As much as i can see the merit in your point, whether mason is the problem or not, a fresh start is what management seek. The fact that we have sent him away for up to 3 weeks imo has ruined any chance of him playing for us anyway - he is on the outer. The problem I see with that pack however is the fact that it is so one dimensional. All big, strong, powerful, dominant and aggresive players but not enough light and shade. Where is the fitzy type workhorse etc. Certain sides would run rings around that sort of front/backrow rotation

                          Roz,

Thats not teh pack. They are elements to be used in a pack. We have those elements. Others include Morbs - who must be told, dont pass the ball, just run and tackle. Friend and Jorbs - both will play better under Smith. Friends passing and running game will improve and Jorbs, if he gets ago will be the other Bonetti tackling anything that moves.

We have the dimensions. Take Mason out and you see we lack teh experience, Ryles apart. This is where Shrek would have been needed. A real leader. But Shittler ****ed that up didnt he?

no I understand that but if you fill in the gaps you will see what I mean. Here would be my interpretation:
                            8. FPN
                            9. Friend
                            10. Ryles
                            11. Myles
                            12. Mason
                            13. Maubs

                            14. Paea
                            15. JWH
                            16. Symonds
                            17. Jones/Jaubs

So basically you have a backrow that is massive - too big and not enough minutes or diversity imo - both would play similarish roles as destroyers on the edge. By the same tokin starting symonds or JWH there wouldnt solve the problem - we need a fitzy, heighington, hoffman type backrower in there. The bench is good - that is what I would have with or without mason. Maubs is the only real worker with myles to a certain extent in that pack. It just doesnt look right. I take your point on experience but imo, we need to replace mason with a different sort of experienced play like waterhouse or hoffman, heighington etc - see what i mean

Myles and Lopini are surely experienced enough by now, Mason isn't required for us to have a good season.
