  • I'm on the fence on this.
No doubt he can play but he's very risky.
We had this conversation about Jennings before he came. Now we all love him.
Robbo knows whats best. He will make the right call.

    • Jennings is nothing like fergs. Jennings fell out with the panthers. Fergs is an idiot. There is no way to fix this. Idiots are unpredictable and very dangerous animals best left to their own devices

        Indeed.

        • In this thread on SKD vs Fergo vs Moga, people seem to be forgetting that SKD is contracted to us next year. Its not as simple as saying I would prefer Fergo to SKD. If SKD is cut from the Roosters, we will still be paying a large portion of his salary and it will still count to our cap. When SKD signed his last contract, he was in career best form and his salary matched that. No-one is going to offer to pay that same amount now.

If we are going to be paying a large portion of SKDs wage, I sure as hell want him out on the paddock playing for us and not someone else!

          • For me it is a question of whether the price is right. If so then snap him up, he has power which very few players have. He is the mould of a Hodges or Inglis and has his best football in front of him.

I am hoping that Fergusson is willing to come here cheaply to play alongside SBW. If he were to come here for around the $300k mark or anything less it would be a very good deal. This is the bonus of having SBW at our club. Hopefully our coaching staff and SBW can help straighten Fergusson out and make him focus on his footy (look what has happened with Friend - many of us were probably calling for his head after all his off field incidents).

SKD would unfortunately probably be the man to go as he would free up the $$ needed to sign Fergusson. This would be a shame, but apart from a few games (including the GF) he has been pretty poor and definitely isn't playing the way he should for his salary (around $350k). It would be sad to see him go but such is life.

If Fergusson were to stuff up then I don't think it would have a huge impact on the team like everyone is making out. The situation is very different to what Carney did. Carney was a 5-8 and directed the team around the field and therefore when he went MIA he left a huge hole in the team. At centre like Fergusson is replaceable and the team doesnt rely greatly on their centres. To add to this, with Moga coming through he would be able to be called upon if needed to replace Fergusson.

                • Great another headcase, I can see this ending like Carney. The roosters are the premiers Its our turn to pick and choose not chase players. Leave him to teams like parra.

Where's Wells off to Horry? He was excellent for Newtown all year. If you could take parts of his game and give them to RTS then you'd have one hell of a footballer. His support play is Slater-like and he certainly knows how to run an inside line off set plays. He's whippet quick. There's a clip on the NSWRL site of when the Jets played Wenty and Semi Radradra stepped past him on a big break about 40 out, Wells just about got up off the ground to catch him 5 out. I'd like Sheck to have his right to left long ball too. And his communication to the line and coverage behind the line is very good. Problem for Henare is he's definitely a fullback with attributes like that and I can't see a player of his potnetial waiting around behind RTS to fill in just in case of injury. England might be a good place for him. Lots of clubs there could do a lot worse than have him as their fullback. But I wouldn't be surprised if he's on Canberra's radar or maybe even Melbourne as someone to develop for when Slater retires.

He's saying exactly what you're saying, he's too good to rot in reserve grade so he'll probably go elsewhere, he could fill that right wing spot but like RTS, is he too good for the wing?

                      • Not sure. He may be retained for depth but it wont be a great contract. he may get something else at another club with more opportunity for better money then they wouldn't stand in his way.

From what i have seen of Wells, including the recent semi final he played in, his defense is a long long way from First Grade standard.

I've noticed that too, he looks like a poor man's Sam Tomkins to be honest, if he was to work on his defence though, he could be prime spot for that right wing in 2014/2015.

The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                              Here's looking at you, kid.

Even when Dugan was in the shit, it was early and the Raiders were doing pretty well. Then Fergo came back and he sparked some brilliance and the Raiders were in the top 8, then he ****ed up and they plummeted. He came back again and they almost beat us. He ****ed up again and again they plummeted missing the 8. The Dugan thing didn't really come into the equation and the whole Milford situation was a different story.
