Surely not, what's the source of this rumour?

We'd be crazy to let him go, I know he's been pushed down the pecking order because he's got some work to do on his game but his ceiling for potential is far higher than any other prop at the club and the staff need to make that well known to him.

Along with Cordner & Sheck I always saw him & Moga as the other two exceptional young talents who would break through in the next couple of years. It'd be such a shame to lose him now after putting in so much work and watch him blossom at another club.

The only other place I have seen it is on LU and that's hardly a reliable source.

I don't know why he would want to leave (contracted until 2014) when there's no better chance of getting a run at Souths.

Look on the surface im told its bullshit but at this club where there is smoke there is fire.
Obviously clubs are throwing money at him... we probably just have to match it and we are sweet ...but wait weve got Sonny Bill on 10 mill a year?

I hope not! In a few years time we could be coming up against a front row of Burgess' and Evans. No thanks.

why? Don't you have faith in the coach whose gotten us to this point already? He'd be in a far better position to judge Evans' progression than us. I agree with 6, I hope they already have or will make it clear to Evans that he's highly regarded and will get his opportunity

I'm sure they have. I suppose if the coach doesn't think he is ready for first grade and he does then we have a problem.

BTW I don't believe the rumour.

Evans has been destructive in quite a few NSW cup matches this year but Robbo is reluctant to use him because he needs to work on his lateral movement in defense, you would think that there would be half a dozen NRL clubs climbing over themselves to get him on their roster.

we have 4 use them of lose them players at the moment, if Evans/Napa/Langi/Moga (when he is fully fit again) don't start getting a taste of first grade soon they will start getting disgruntled knowing there are plenty of other options out there for them.

if indeed FPN has started seriously looking at other options, we could do worse than rotating Evans/Napa in first grade during the second half of the season.
                    Well said mate.

If the footy people (Robbo/POS) are making the calls I'm happy to back their judgement.

But like you said gun kids like Evans and Moga aren't going to sit around in reserve grade next year, I think there would be a dozen clubs would want them.

It would be a football tragedy if we lose some of these kids and held onto some of the older guys for a year too long.

Yeah they have the box seat but they dont always get it right.I can see our coach doesnt muck around he wont allow an ounce of apathy around the club so we need a good shit kicker in him but you know there are two SOO props playing next week who were Rooster young guns who werent thought of much at the club back in the day.
Dont let history repeat it self.

Although his father played a little first grade for Souths, Balmain and the Bulldogs, he was always a Souths' man.

Absolute rubbish he's going nowhere, he'll get his chance soon enough as will Napa they just have to be patient he'd be in an even worse predicament at Souths they've got an abundance forwards and its hard to get a look in at Souths anyway unless your names Burgess lol.

Every player wanting to sign with Souths, now say their surname is Burgess, in a year or so. 1 to 17 will all be something or other Burgess.
