Jack Wighton. This kid can play 6, 13 or in the centres. Very much in the Fittler/Daley mould (although won't be quite as good as them). He'll play 20 Origins at least for NSW. Think he's off contract at the end of 2014. One of the best one-on-one defenders in the NRL.

Yeah but he cant seem to crack a spot. Croker and Ferguson have nailed the centres and McCrone and Williams have the halves. Its sad to see such a talented kick in reggies. Canberra however want to keep McCrone, Williams, Cornish and Milford. You can't keep them all Canberra!!!

I would love him at the Roosters over SKD. Pretty sure Wighton can play wings too

I went through their numbers for this year and compared against Tasi's from last year. He's running with the middle of the pack, with average numbers; and when you compare him to someone like FinucaneLussick/ Lawrence/ James, he is fairly one-dimensional and less intimidating.

I accept that he is a great talent. Its just that he was meant ot be the 2012 Rookie of the year and was very quiet. His counterpart Josh Jackson was much better. He was talked of being a future Australian rep etc.

That's what I meant by didn't live up to the hype

Furner is a muppet. I would build the Raiders around Wighton for the next decade.

Imagine how good he would be in a good side like ours.

I would take wighton in a heartbeat. he hasn't established himself yet, so he wouldn't be expensive. id say he go for less than what SKD is on currently. pick him up.

edit: I don't know about you guys that want Tomkins or what not, but what about a backline of:
              1. RTS
              2. Tupou
              3. Jennings
              4. Wighton
              5. Moga
              6. Maloney
              7. Pearce

Excuse me while I go and barbecue alone.

Long-term I see Wighton as a 6/13 - he played all his junior footy at 6.

eventually he may end up there, but the same thing has been said about Kieran Foran for ages. he still plays at 6.
I would still go for Wighton, seeing as SKD has been playing poorly, it just seems to be a nice coincidence how SKD and Wighton are off contract at the same time.

I'd sign him up as a lock. Just think he can add that bit more to the side with his ball playing and defensive prowess compared to what Folau can offer. And for half the price.

lol, if there is one thing we don't need, it's more backrowers.
