People want Cordner on the fringe, so we put him there and Langi lock. Aubo, Langi and Cordner is an impressive backrow.

I doubt we have much to worry about with Trent Robinson and Co. With POS supplying this coaching team the cream of a wide spread crop, I think we are on the verge of an era of ultra competitiveness.

        Chook.

Well if you weren't comparing them what were you doing???

I understand you see potential in these kids, but I don't see how people can just add no name kids to 1st grade line ups and expect them to compare to established seasoned pros.

I don't agree with the Goat too often but he makes a valid point, replacing a $BW type character with an untested kid with potential is a massive risk. I hope the kid makes it and plays for us for years but the odds are stacked heavily against that scenario eventuating.

Not picking on you as such mate I just see these comments every day on the forums. I often don't think a lot of posters realise the difference in class between 1st grade and the 20s or reserves. It's not that simple IMO to just stick kids into the top grade and expect them to dominate for years. It rarely works that way as our last few seasons show.

I was merely stating that why sign a player who yes is proven and a representative player, but injury prone and penalty prone, when we may have the next big thing in our grasp? Yes kids don't always perform in 1st grade like they do in lower grades, but Langi is sure to get a run this year or next and by that time we would know if he's got 'it'. If not then maybe we make a play for Stewart, I'd prefer not too though.

It's the "ifs" though isn't it.

I wouldn't sign Spewart anyways, but if we were hypothetically replacing $BW I can see the "smarter" move would be to sign an established rep player with a few GFs under his belt in that position rather than relying on a kid with potential who is a "maybe" at best.

That's not saying Langi won't make it, I hope he does, but when planning a replacement for such a player like $BW "ifs" don't cut it IMO. I'm talking hypothetically of course.

Indeed, but it wont come to a decision like this as by 2015, Langi would surely have played and we would know if he is the goods.

Plays well within the mnaly system but yet to fire in SOO. Not sure we need to replace SBW with a big buy I think the cattle we have can do the job in 2015

As far as I know $BW is off contract at the end of this season and as yet hasn't confirmed he is staying or going next year. So there is a very real possibility we are talking 2014.

I have seen countless kids who were gonna be world beaters and who have never had the chance or have got injuries or have lacked the ability to ever debut. Some even take a few years to show their worth. Many never do. Look at Evans for example. Everyone had him winning the DallyM this year, I reckon he will be lucky to debut with the way the sides performing ATM, other than cos of a few injuries of course.

Point being we may not have seen Langi b4 next season, or 2015 for that matter. It's a very real possibility.

And again I hope I'm wrong. I hope he gets the shot and dominates, but that's a remote possibility in all reality.

People had Evans for Dally M? That's stupid 1. He's a prop and 2. He's a rookie. Anyway even if SBW did leave this year Langi would get his go, if he performs he stays if not we have a multitude of backrowers, another reason not to sign Stewart.

people had him for Dally M rookie of the yr.

This yr there is hardly any good rookies. In fact the rule stats that if you have played only 3 games or less u classify as a rookie so for me it looks like Albert Kelly from GC would be leading along with Tupou. Klemmer has dissapointed, Cummins and Keary and Cornish havent played yet so I guess this year it will be easy for Kelly/tupou

Makes more sense, but Kelly has played 14 games for the Sharks.

that means Tupou would realistically be leading. oh wait forgot Tohu Harris!!!!!

He would be leading with Toops a close second. If Toops has a few groundbreaking games he could take the ROTY award out
