If she really wanted to get up there I could do the Perth fly overs I guess.
I'll be a qualified mechanical engineer in about 8 months so maybe I can flum a job somewhere up there in the air-con for a change.Last edited by Greedy666; 01-23-2013, 11:15 AM.

This areas supposedly the fastest growing in the country, SE QLD - Far NTH NSW.
I know Tweed has more than doubled in size in the last 10 or so years. Machinery Drive (the area where all things happen) has doubled at least in that time. I meet people every day who have moved from Sydney or Melba and very few ever go back or desire to once they taste the area.
Lifestyle is what it's about. You can kill yourself in a large city working, paying mortgages, putting kids thru private schools, fighting traffic and playing the stress game. Or you can live at a more relaxed pace and enjoy your downtime with family and friends and earn enough to be comfortable and happy and give your kids a chance to grow up in an environment where they actually know Mum and Dad.
That was the key for us. We are from Bondi. IMO The Tweeds like Bondi when I grew up, big enough to be able to do what you want and have every chance to get on in life, still small enough that you don't lose your marbles just trying to breathe. There are at least 8 of us now, Bondi Roosters I grew up with, maybe another 8 who I've met up here from the Sydney, all the families etc who have done the move. In fact I have another mate who's due here in 2 weeks.
We even have guest appearances of some Pen/Wall legends occasionally. Some funny times have been had with those carnts.
Horrie Is God is local too, FittySix aswell. We gotta do that beer arvo bro, maybe a footy ones in order.
Come Greeds, you won't look back in anger. Do the holiday thing a few times. Stay at Kirra or somewhere close, on the beach. You will love it.
The FlogPen .
You know it makes sense.

The Central Coast is giving both of us the shits. I don't know what it's like up there but this joint is just getting over-run with scumbag, bogan, farrkwitts.....and their kids are worse. I know you're bound to get it wherever you go, but the ratio is getting way too high for me.
We were up at Tugun not long ago and the Mrs loved it, that's where she got the idea from.
At least I could have a coldie with a few Roosters up there too.

Sounds like a great lifestyle up there guys. I'm looking for a nice place in Australia to retire to within the next few years. Being from Sydney it just no longer seems to be a good place to live. It is consistently ranked as either one of or the most expensive cities in the world. I just don't see the value in it. I was actually looking at some properties at Port Douglas recently. Apparently business is terrible up there and property prices are well down. Of course most live in Sydney for the work opportunities. I'm hoping not working will open up a lot of places to me that would otherwise not be practical. South-East Queensland and Northern NSW seem a great option. There are also some very good value properties on the NSW South Coast but the winter might be a bit harsher than up north.
