My brother in law (Heg the rooster on here), my sister and their 5 kids are all Roosters fans living in Ipswich. Myself living in Brisbane, 500m from the famous Caxton Street die hard Chooks fan.

I was very keen to come down for round one, but after the last two days of looking at planes, tickets etc seems won't be able to make it. Thursday night makes it hard.

Alas we will be coming down for a game during the year. Will plan to get to Henson Park for a Jets game, A roosters game at home and then go see one of the other traditional footy grounds around sydney (Brooky, Leichardt or Para Stadium).

With so many Sth East Qld fans maybe we should look at starting an annual trip???

The Central Coast is giving both of us the shits. I don't know what it's like up there but this joint is just getting over-run with scumbag, bogan, farrkwitts.....and their kids are worse. I know you're bound to get it wherever you go, but the ratio is getting way too high for me.

We were up at Tugun not long ago and the Mrs loved it, that's where she got the idea from.

At least I could have a coldie with a few Roosters up there too.

A mate of mine up here is a CC boy. Says he same thing mate, can't even visit now, not the same. Like me with Bondi, except it's been invaded by trendy squirrel hipsters and their latte set spawn.

Nah there are some here, like everywhere, but I find it's a good place to live, especially if you have a family. I stay away from the GC strip mostly, it's just a hole IMO.

Brissy is an hour away if you feel the need to play in traffic. Sometimes I still get the urge.

Mostly what I miss up here is quality restaurants. There are some that I enjoy but I find mostly it's easier to buy good produce, which is abundant especially seafood, and have a BBQ with friends.

One thing you have zero problems with up this way is beer'o'clock. Had a mate from Sydney over yesterday evening and got on the sauce, he just relaxed and settled into the life, it's always great when someone acclimatises in front of you. This bloke used to live here and went back to Sydney, 5mins and 1/2 a beer and he's back baby.

And that's what it's all about.

Mate I can vouch for HIG, he hates Souffs as much as anyone.

At the same time as being a Souffs Junior he was a Roosters Ballboy.

You have to remember over the years alot of us Easts Juniors had to play in the Souffs comp. I recall a year playing in a combined Easts, Balmain, StainGeorge, Pootown comp. Something like that.

In fact I played my first junior footy for Marist Bros in the Souffs comp at the age of 5. It's just where you lived, or where your parents lived.
