Let's face it.
It's Nicks club.
Do the people that are criticizing me understand that concept?
It means that he is the head of the tribe.
What he says goes.
From the top of my head.....
He has sacked due to poor performance before contract fulfillments.
Graham Murray
Ricky Stuart
Chris Anderson
Brad Fittler
Brian Smith.
We have had wooden spoons, bottom 3 finishes , player mismanagement, culture problems, players moving to other clubs and performing better.
Yet.....somehow, fans do not seem to mind because of the financial gains assosciated with the owner.
But he is not really an owner!
There is a disparity here and I think it deserves open debate.
If Nick was the official owner I would not question nor criticize him at all.
Yet, we have a "Mickey mouse " board and a pseudo owner that contributes unknown amounts.barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

Of those coaches you mention that he sacked before time, who exactly deserved to be retained? Ricky Stuart maybe although I cant clearly remember the circumstances surrounding that...
Why would members be 'scared' to challenge Nick? Will he revoke memberships, hunt you down? His financial backing is only the half of it. Football is a business so what better person to run the club than one of Australia's most successful businessman. Might I add that over the modern era (2000-now) we would rank second or third in terms of most successful side - 5 gfs & 1 premiership. The storm and manly have won 1 more premiership in that time but havent quite appeared in as many. While there has been some serious ups & downs, I find that hard to criticise.
By making the decisions he has, he is taking responsibility. He put Noyce, Smith & Co there and obviously it wasnt working so he took it upon himself to try and rectify that. In their place he has put a rookie coach (Robison) which is an inspired decision imo, has returned Canavan who loves the club and knows the game better than most and also restructured the management team in a way that I believe will benefit the club as it simplifies the chain of command, removes role double-up and streamlines the whole system right up to Easts leagues and then him and board.
Btw, I find it hard to call them a 'mickey mouse' board when you have blokes of the calibre of gyngell on there. What would you rather? one a bit more like wests - that is full of 'footy people' and 'run for the fans' and look how far that has gotten them - keeping sheens in the first place (1 finals series & comp in 12 odd years with a good list & then as part of the clean out, letting their best players go). Or as Buddy pointed out, we could follow the parra model - how good has that been!Last edited by roz; 10-18-2012, 09:30 AM.

It's called accountability
not possible at the Roosters - the board answers to no-one, and in the light of poor performance can just sack another coach and another CEO and maybe some strength and conditioning people and some marketing people yet they themselves remain - unaccountable
It's a futile exercise trying to get some Roosters fans to understand this concept
I can guarantee you though that when the day comes that Politis does step away, and you get to see how different things are, you'll look back and wish it had happened sooner

Are you satisfied with what our club has achieved since 2000? Do you believe our results since are the envy of most Sydney clubs?
Were you the Tony that emailed Graeme Hughes a couple of days ago quoting Rothfield's article word for word?
I don't know of any clubs which don't go through rough patches. Mistakes are made with players, coaches, administrators. You acknowledge the mistakes, fix them and move on. That's why we have made the GF 5 years since 2000. Canterbury have gone through some shockers, made the proper changes and are on a high now. I believe we are now going to go through the same with the recent changes made. If you agree, who do you believe deserves credit for that? Why blame Nick when we go through the bad times but when we make grand finals all the credit goes to Freddy and Carney?

Try and get that through your head
Parra were chosen as an example no doubt to try and support the argument put forward by the happy clapper Politis supporting North Koreans, who live under the belief that they're all too stupid to be able to even have a single vote in matters that involve the club that they love so much they spend half the day chatting to other fans online, so it's better that someone comes in and decides everything and remains completely unaccountable
If you'd rather not refer to Parramatta, pick any other club apart from those that are privately owned
