Linnet's only downfall was that he needed to bulk up.

He was always quality when he played here. His defensive reads were amazing for his age and he was very handy in attack. He is worth every cent that the cows paid him.

He wasn't worth 200k but SKD is worth 350 for 4 years?

You forgot Kennedy, he is useless, there would be a dozen better front rowers in the NRL at his age or younger.

I still think Linnett needs to put a couple more kgs on his frame, could very well end up in the backrow imo as he isn't the fastest outside back going around.

I fail to see where Oldfield was one of the top tryscorers in a bottom ranked NYC team. Maybe your mistaking him for Zac Santo for the Cowboys this year who is up there in the try scorers list playing in a team that is dog average without Grevsmuhl and Taumalolo in the forward pack this year. Funnily enough they have both played in the games against the dogs and warriors over the last 3 weeks and won both. Just goes to show how good those 2 guys are.
i stand corrected on that - its been a long night. Im not going to engage in this "our juniors are better than yours" rubbish. what the hell have grevsmuhl and taumololo have to do with anything? I also dont think linnett is crap. My point is simple, from a roosters perspective, having oldfield who is a similar sort of player to linnett on half the money with moga and SKD as your first choice centre pairing (both of whom are better players than linnett) is a far wiser option than matching the cowboys for money and keeping him. has it occured to anyone that linnett is actually a roosters fan so its not like he wanted to leave - this was a conscious decision made by the club for the reason I have listed above which I agree with in principle. Might I add that moga fielded a ridiculously large offer from the storm before re-signing with us earlier this year. I for one sure am glad we decided to invest in moga instead of linnet

Neither am I hence saying the Cowboys U20's this year have been dog average without a couple of guys around them this year.

Moga and SKD better players then Linnett? LOL give me Linnett over both of those 2 any day of the week. SKD couldn't use his shoulder in a tackle if his life depended on it and Moga hasn't looked interested in FG at all this year, no doubting how good he could become though but saying he is better then Linnett is laughable to say the least.

Easy to name a better halfback in FG, Adam Reynolds. Within 12 months time he will have Pearce's origin jersey.

Linnett is yet to reach the individual heights of SKD even outside thurston and a better forward pack than the roosters had in 2010. On potential, there isnt a better outside back in the game than RTS and Moga. you can ask any talent scout going around. Based on this, Im content with the decision the club made.

I think Cowpokemad needs to say "all your backs are belong to us."

Anyone would look like a star outside Bowen and JT

Really? Those guys have been there for quite some time and have failed to deliver yr in yr out. cowboys would have to be the biggest under achievers of the league.

For all SKD's shortcomings I'd still take him over Linnett.

The rest are all unproven at this level so it's no real surprise, especially RTS.

Watch for Ashley Graham's best Minichiello impression in the finals series though, there were more signs of just how inept he is tonight but no doubt overlooked by the coaching staff due to the impressive win.

If you strip away the nonsense and anger, you will see it's the lack of a decent half (5/8th or halfback) that leads to the lack of cohesion with the backs.
