  • Rads back in round 6

Just came across this. Apparently, the club has agreed that the 3 games for England and the trials will count as part of the ban. Great news if it's true. They have a quote from Maubs as well.

Looks like Robbo thinks we're a realist chance next season and has convinced the powers that be to adjust their moral compass.

All good so long as we all dont critise other clubs for being lenient with their own players.

i think us banning him for even 5 games sets us apart from other clubs. commonsense prevails

Most other clubs give a one game ban if they give one don’t they?
rads still misses 10 games including an English tour for the ashes - just less nrl games (and still looses substantial $$)

                happy with this

                  Indeed.
Rads is experienced, and NRL hardened.
We need him to play well if we're to go deep into the finals next season.

You think we were lenient, Mick?

The Club was stupid in the first place. High dudgeon in regard to your own significant player is rare and even way out of place in RL and it doesn't even happen unless you set yourself up as some sort of exemplar.

I think the club was silly to give him 10 games out & not pay him.
The angle that I was coming from is giving him a big punishment & making out that the club dealt with him severely only to change it & include 3 test matches & 2 trials gives ammunition to supporters of other clubs saying what a rort, I’ve already copped slack about this morning as I knew I would.
If say our other favourite club did that with the Cheese this place would go into meltdown.

Even with the amended layoff it's still more than what other clubs have handed out.
