i think the club looks less stupid with this clarification. and when i say the club i mean nick. this was nick's creation. i love nick but he got this one wrong. there's a difference between performance enhancing drugs and social drugs and dealing with social drugs is always going to be difficult. rads bleeds red white and blue and talk about him being sacked for this was crazy. different story if social drug use has a bad effect on performance or attitude.

and it's not as if he's got off scot free. Fined $130k and missing 10 games - yes, he's still missing 10 games - is hardly a slap on the wrist

I have been outspoken that I think Radley is well past it and not worth the hassle at this point, regardless of his loyalty to us.

That being said, I thought the 10 game ban was dumb as we were self sabotaging by keeping him on our books yet not playing him for a third of the season purely on a self imposed moral stance.

At least with him missing less games we get some sort of value out of his extortionate 750k a season contract.

I thought Rads had 2 maybe 3 great games last season. Definitely poor value at 750k a season. Hopefully he finds and maintains his old form!

Rads pulled out of the Ashes before he was even picked because he couldn't afford to get married was what I read so to take 3 games off the suspension for games missed in the Ashes is a bit of a stretch, different if he got picked first & then pulled out.

Nick made it clear that he would've sacked Radley if he could. The club wasn't prepared to role the dice and become embroiled in an unfair dismissal so they opted for a 10 game suspension, fine etc.

He's obviously softened his stance now that the dust has settled. His reputation of being a man of his word will now be questioned by the media.

The suspension was an arbitrary rooster imposed sanction. They are free to choose however they want in counting games that count.The could say a test game is worth 2 club games and he's served 8 with the trials. Clubs choice!
