Gees those tickets are way expensive.

I wonder when the stadium is built in Brisbane for the 2032 Olympics that the Grand finals will be held in Brisbane before this. - Apparently that stadiums capacity will only be 63.000

Stadium Australia in Homebush was 110,000 or so with the temporary seating during the Olympics and now 83,500

Who would spend that money when you can watch it at home for free ?

The days of a $5 ticket like the 1980 Grand Final are long game and the working class game is bottom line driven

Mate, I dont think they are expensive. These are a little high but 2 rows behind gold and on halfway. Id pay whatever it takes to be at the ground when my team makes it

GF tickets are fairly priced when you look at what concerts cost these days !! ...and compared to the AFL, League tickets are a bargain. Each to their own, but I dont understand how you could watch the GF from home if your team is playing

Probably not as expensive as a ticket to a MBL final one would think.

Not related to the GF tickets but just on the GF & who Melbourne will play.

I think the Panthers will get over the Broncos today. For me Nathan Cleary will get the job done, he is an incredible player & has the workman, tradesman players around him who just get the job done.
Im not fussed who wins but Im really looking forward to the game the Bronx have got it in them & have the number 1 strike player in the game so you never know.
Madge has done it his way & brought toughness to the Broncos & of course the ice cool Ivan Cleary continues to get the boys from Sydney's west up, its been quite a ride for the Panthers this year & I admire them, Imagine if they go 5 in a row.
Anyway good luck to both teams & I will be watching from the Brass Monkey here in Taipei City.

Did you go to the game Michael?

"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

Each to their own Michael but not everyone is an arm chair supporter. Some people, like myself, like to get out there and support the team and enjoy the atmosphere.

How many tickets are available for purchase by the general public I wonder as a significant number are allocated to corporates and sponsors etc - players playing in the GF are also allocated tickets both NRL and NRLW.

                          40 to 45k max perhaps?

Always a problem in the AFL with a maximum of around 40,000 tickets available to the General Public including competing club members. MCG Capacity is 100,024

They do have significantly larger club membership numbers so a stack miss out on tickets.

                          Geelong Cats - 92,379
                          Brisbane Lions - 75,515

It’s a no brainer if your team is playing.
You have to be at the ground, for the atmosphere.

Plus, when you are at the game, you see the space, the plays, and how every tackle counts.

You miss all of that on the tv.

From down here these days I go to a lot less games than I used to, but nothing beats being at the ground.

What you say about every tackle counts, isn't that so true. At the ground you can see where if a tackle isn't made, the ball carrier makes many more yards downfield. And the crowd gives a clap for the centre who came off the line to make the tackle. Like when a prop forward makes a 10m run and half breaks a tackle. He gets a clap.

You're there at the ground while it's happening.
