I went to the 1983 grand final for free with Mum as we had tickets in the Ladies Stand. My brother in law was related to a founding member of the Eels so we had passes. We got to sit with Jon English behind us. Then 30 years later I had the pleasure of watching Manly get done again. I do believe some DCE bloke won a medal of some sort that day...yikes..

We can get tickets through work but I'm not going to get greedy as I'm waiting for a 2026 double header Roosters grand final next year...

          40 to 45k max perhaps?

Always a problem in the AFL with a maximum of around 40,000 tickets available to the General Public including competing club members. MCG Capacity is 100,024

They do have significantly larger club membership numbers so a stack miss out on tickets.

          Geelong Cats - 92,379
          Brisbane Lions - 75,515

Who is going to the GF though? - We will be as SCG/Allianz members to cheer on the mighty Sydney Roosters NRLW side - A great example of how far the Women's game has progressed and how the Sydney Roosters and Central Coast Roosters have invested in the Women's game.

Bring it home NRLW Sydney Roosters where the trophy deserves to be in 2025.

I went to the 1981 Grand Final when my father had free tickets through his work at Telecom at the time, sat in the Bradman Stand, seeing East were knocked out i couldn't decide who i was going for, Newtown were the underdog but Parramatta also had not won a Grand Final yet either, an old Jack Gibson play happened near where we were sitting with a placed cross field kick and it looked like Graham Atkins had scored but it was disallowed, i thought from where we were sitting it was fair try so after that i was going for Parra and after that Parra did finish over the top of a very brave Newtown.

I wonder when the stadium is built in Brisbane for the 2032 Olympics that the Grand finals will be held in Brisbane before this. - Apparently that stadiums capacity will only be 63.000

Stadium Australia in Homebush was 110,000 or so with the temporary seating during the Olympics and now 83,500

Who would spend that money when you can watch it at home for free ?

The days of a $5 ticket like the 1980 Grand Final are long game and the working class game is bottom line driven
When i got tickets for the 2019 Grand Final they were about $300 each, i didn't have a problem with that as i was sitting roughly in the same position as the 2018 GF and also the 2002 GF and we know what happened both those years i paid just about the same price as the 2019 NRL GF as to watching the Swans beat Hawthorn in the 2012 AFL Grand Final.

In the 2018 Grand Final the tickets i got were $240 from memory , couldn't get access to the cheaper tickets that morning but a nice Melbourne supporter from another site gave me a code which opened up great seats and only a couple of rows from where i sat in 2002 so i thought that was a great omen

In 2013 sat with redwhiteblue behind the in goal area, think the tickets were around a $100 roughly ( correct me if i'm wrong redwhiteblue ) but had the perfect view of the Jamie Lyon penalty try in front of us and knew the way the ball bounced there was no way it was penalty try, Manly scored again after that to go up 18-8 but i remember saying to redwhiteblue that Manly were only 10 points up and we going to win it, such a a magic game and i enjoy watching it over again, good grief how did DCE win the medal for about 10 mins of decent play.

One of the dumbest posts you’ve made Sally.

When I was in the states I paid $750 for 5 tix to a LA Lakers regular season game in the bleachers so the price is a fair price in my opinion.

Many fans will want to go the GF and pay that price.

Thanks so much and getting there 1908. Doing 2 days in the office now and the rest from home.

I still have to go to the bathroom a lot every time we appear to look like scoring....thanks Marky Mark!

I appreciate the welcome back. Congratulations on becoming a grandfather. That is one cute baby in your photo and wishing your family all the best. My sister's little granddaughter has come from London to Melbourne now permanently with my niece and her husband and she loves going to the races at Flemington. Their team is the Swans and I can cope with that despite me knowing nil about AFL. I can get away with buying her red, white and blue clothes, passing them off as 'ever so British'....

I may have told you before about my half time 13 year old tantrum..lots of dramatic flinging of oneself on one's bed...! I wanted them to win so badly for Dad as I knew he wasn't going to be around much longer and he hung in there enough to see a couple more Parra premierships. I still consider myself a Parra fan for that time of my life whilst Dad was still alive. I'm astounded how they have won nothing since 1986..I have all those on DVD plus the game you gave me on a USB stick.

Yes that sounds about right as that was the last grand final I went to and thank you for getting those for us as I was working in a very stressful job with no time to do anything.
I remember going out on the supporters bus from the club and arriving in 40 degree midday heat. I was taken to the ambulance room with sunstroke and they covered me in sunscreen. They tried to send me home and I said not until I get MY trophy...LOL...the things we do for our beloved Roosters.

I was wearing my Minor Premiers T-shirt aka the "We beat the Vermin at Homebush to get this" shirt and I wore it as recently as yesterday. It has a hole in it and bleach stains somewhere but I do not care. 18-8 did not bother us at all did it as we KNEW! I had known all that year we were going to win and said as much to Trent Robinson in the car park on ANZAC Day as he signed my cap for me.

There are pros and cons about going to grand finals. For me, I've been able to put some great memories in the bank with family and friends for attending in person but when there are stressful ones like 2019 with the 6 again rubbish, I was fuming too much to enjoy..I even didn't finish my cheese plate that night and that is so unlike me.. So grateful I was at home for that. I remember texting you in a fury because less than 10 mins after full time, Trent was stuck on a channel 9 desk with J Thurston rambling on about the 6 again..I ended up giving away that DVD as I can't watch it again.

The 2013 is definitely my favourite grand final of all time.
