Reynolds is off-contract next year should we get rid of Pearce and get Reynolds this guy looks like the next Thurston. Kicks goals very good in attack. Pearce looks like Finch to me lets not miss the opportunity to get a JT type player.

At the start of the season, Pearce was looking like he would realise his potential. He was playing with a lot of confidence. The game he had for City V Country was one of his best - really taking control of games.
For the last 6 weeks, he has been very poor - his last 2 games have been atrocious. Last night was embarassing - maybe even enough so that other clubs don't actually chase him hard and his $ value drops. Although I am still a fan of Pearce and still think he will be a good first grader, his contracts should not be in the same region as Thurston, Carney, Foran, Cronk, Marshall etc.

Nine matches 2 wins Nil series wins is not good enough This was the best cahnce Pearce was going to get to win a series QLD were not the force they weer without Lockyer For mine and many others Pearce has had his chance and failed to take it Give someone else a go Whats the worse that can happen we lose another series Imo and many others If we pick pearce again we will lose againI respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

He did put on one good move down the blind and backed up in the second half but he needed to do more, much more than he did. Put a rocket up him, something, consistency is attitude as my old swimming coach use to say. If his minds not on the job a stint in Newtown might focus it, fark his social life!
Chook.
I was praying that the last gasp field goal he went for would go over if only to lift his spirits and give him a bit of confidence to bring back to the Roosters. As it was, that too was a shocker.
For the next couple of weeks, I can see more poor games from Pearce and plenty more threads bagging him. Hopefully he can come out the other side of it better for the experience.

So many playmakers thrive on confidence and play like crap without it (Carney, Pearce, Soward, Mullen - even Thurston).

We have watched Pearce for 6 years so can anyone tell me what part of the game he excels at? Can't be his strong defence, his kicking game is crap average. When games are in the balance he goes missing. What are his strengths apart from humping everything that wears a bra?
Just an average first grade footballer imo.

I do think though, overall this year, he has played his best football.
Perspective time - a penalty goal less to QLD and NSW wins....would the Pearce bagging be as strong? Methinks not.
As i said before, i wouldn't be looking to offload him.. but if he thinks he's worth 500k and any close to the likes of Cronk or Thurston, he is a dreamer and can fugg right off

The trouble with Pearce & Easts is that we've built our team around him for the last 4 - 5 years, hoping he would develop into the next Joey, so the dilemma is do we persist with him, after everything the club has invested in him, he is only 23 yo after all, or do we cut our losses & pick the next potential Messiah?
My view, which will be at odds with 90% of this forum, is that we see how he goes with a decent 5/8th next to him next year, just hope he's not totally demoralised by the SOO experience, c'mon Mitch show us that you've got something, best time to start is against your drinking buddy next Monday, time to come of age Superboy!!
