Although im new to this forum I have been reading for a long long time and your views on Pearce have always reflected my views.
Pearce is the most over-rated player in the NRL by FAR!! Maybe for the last 3-4 years.

What we can all agree on is that this QLD team will go down in history books as one of the best teams ever assembled.
It's a scary thought that Inglis is not in their top 3 players, yet would easily be the best player for NSW.
Personally i thought NSW was lucky to even get that close. They showed some ticker.
PS, lets be honest here. Wallace is as much of a plodder as Pearce.

His current contract has been reported to be something like 400k/year. I've seen nothing in the past few years to warrant an upgrade at all. If he wants 500k, he's kidding himselfLast edited by Chook Norris; 07-05-2012, 03:50 AM.

Farah made a crucial mistake.
Pearce made a terrible missed tackle that led to a try. That try was a Shepard and shouldn't have been counted but still.
he also made a kick that led to a 20m restart that led to the field goal
I don't blame him for missing the field goal as it was 50m out but they should have given it to Carney. Pearce can't kick goals he missed 2 in the Tigers 2010 final. Carney kicked a few in 2010 2011. What really annoyed me though is that I saw that huge bomb Pearce was able to put up. Why couldn't he have done that MORE OFTEN.
Well we all know who the Scapegoat is.

Farrah had an average game just like the halves. He put several nothing kicks in that went straight to Qld. He dropped the ball when we had all the momentum. Yes he put two kicks in for tries, first one was quality. The second was just amazing work from Morris - the Kick was straight to Boyd and Morris stole it.

at least Farrah kicks gave us a chance at a 50-50 contest and we came up trumps
all Pearce's kicks do is turn over possession without any chance at a contest - either kicks it straight to them or kicks it dead
does it for the roosters and for NSW each and every time
its only a mistake when he gets a repeat set from one of his kicks

Everybody make Pearce the scapegoat don't they. People seem to forget that when we were close to the posts Farah thumbled the ball but forgive him because he set up a try and said his "emotions got the better of him" didn't that cost the Tigers a preliminary final and avoid facing the Dragons because hotheaded Marshall punched pearce, oh and didn't that cost a try in Game 1 when Jennings joined the fight? Poor poor Farah his emotions got the better of him. Also believe it or not Pearce supported Farah alot. Who got Farah close to the tryline for the Morris kick thats right Pearce dummied. Oh and when we were about to try who knocked it on Gallen. Farah costed us in the crucial moment but it was the teams fault for being a spectator and how was the Hodges try allowed?
IMO Pearce should be replaced but I don't understand how no one is angry at Farah maybe its because the Tigers are media darlings and people feel sorry for Farah after his loss.

Pearce is a victim of the way rugby league is played today.
There are very few players with the skills of Thurston, Cherry Evans etc these days. Very few.
The game is all about big players with athleticism.
Somebody posted a link to a highlights package of our 1999 season. Go and watch that and see how much skill there was back then and the beautiful deep backline movements.
Phil Gould has been calling for a playmaker academy for a long time now. This is crucial for the game if we are going to keep the skill component in the game.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.
