If we can’t beat the Dragons without Sam we need to take a hard look at ourselves.
They nearly beat the Raiders on the weekend and probably should’ve won that game..

If players are ready to play we need to play them, simple as that as we have some tough games coming up..

They will be no easy beats. They are due a win. Kind of like the Tigers. Been steely for most of their games this year even in defeat.

I still stand by it though. Sandon and Savala should be able to get the job done against them and we shouldn’t rush anyone back for the sake of it. If Sam is 100% then yes, he should play.

We have lost a few we should’ve won earlier in the season, but this loss stings the most for me considering how desperate we were for the 2 points and how we are now back out of the 8..
I'm feeling the same mate. I was worried about this game and I couldn't believe there were some predicting a big win. It was always going to be tough with so many players missing.

Making the top 8 is going to be really difficult now. I think Penriff and the Dolphins are almost certainties. So it's between Easts, Cronulla and Manly for the last spot.

We need the Dolphins to beat the Sharks this week. We play the Sharks (A) after the Steelers. Two must win games for us. Then we play the Storm (H) and Manly (A). We need 3 wins out of these games.

Manly have the bye this week but then face a very tough month. That could make or break their season. The Sharks have a tricky month but then have an easy run until their last game against the Dogs.

On our best form we should be too good for the Steelers. But, we all know it doesn't work that way. Just ask the bookies.

I don’t mind Egan - he is good for one unpressured knock on of a good pass per game but it’s not much more than that - just feels like it.

However that being said I hate the way he regularly lies on the ground after making a tackle and doesn’t get back in the defensive line for the next play way way to regularly for my liking.

          Get up Egan

Taylor Losalu might have been a concreter but the bloke is like a cement truck. Him and Whyte done well except for the dropped ball.
I'm not a betting man and I'd never tip against us, but I knew that with 3 of our top 13 on the field (and one playing in the centres where he's leaky/confused) it was gonna be a tough day.

We almost ran them down at the end which IMO is something we should be proud of. Yeah it s*x to lose, particularly when we NEEDED those points. However, that's life. It was a NSW Cup team against almost their best side.

I see we are short priced favourites again. The bookies might clean up again.
In his post game press conference Robbo suggested a couple of guys had specialist appointments this week to determine if they could return this week (while not naming them individually I was assuming Robbo was talking about Radley and Walker).

They sound like the only possible plus Billy with NButch and Wong still listed as a few more weeks. But I think he did say in either the post game or pre-game that Sammy was a chance this week.

                • a few thoughts:
we scored 5 tries to 4 but the tigers opted for shots on goal instead of going for a try so we were kind of even on that count.
our defence wasn't that bad. one of the tries conceded was an attacking error and was undefendable. their second half try looked like benny was obstructed - you've seen tries disallowed for less. the other two were poor - egan went for the wrong type of tackle, should have tried to wrap him up rather than go for the big hit.
sandon hit the post on one conversion - a what if moment in a game we lost by two.
a couple of their penalty goals looked like they were based on phantom hits to the head.
it's possible rodwell might have got the ball down over the line early in the game.

but more importantly, just because we play for premierships doesn't mean we're always going to beat teams below us on the table. a win would have been good for our chances of making the semi but with so many players not going to feature down the track it wouldn't have been a good indication of how the team's going to fare.

could be we miss out on the semis by 2 points but if that happens it won't just be because we lost yesterday

                    Yes agree
but 4 players out for them still isn’t half their side

                    • Still dispute it all we struggle to close games and that's on our halves.6 games we have lost I believe we should have one Sandon Smith can't produce anything under pressure..Savala is almost there.

                      • I think we can still make the 8 but it’s shaky a lot will depend on how well sam goes and how quickly Hugo and him start to gel in the halves the rest of the side will sort itself out for the run home but I think they will combine really well

                        • A lot depends on the health of the side also, hope we don’t rest any players over the next 10 weeks and go hard for it..

The only way we will make the 8 is if we have the majority of our side available on the park..

We can’t keep losing players as last week showed, eventually it catches up on you!

I can't see Robbo resting players until we are mathematically out of the race.
