Did we have much better? A 3 game hooker
    2 guys on debut
10 guys out from the 17 and 4 out from nsw cup who would have filled positions
Yes they are poor but an easy 2 points goes begging

Could have done that, but you said at least till the end of Origin. That’s the only reason I commented. We replaced Dom with Junior Tupou. I doubt Dom would have made much difference to the result though. I thought Rodwell went ok.

Sadly so Mickie. NRL 360 spent all week giving it to the Tigers and Benji. They were going to come out fired up. We were missing too many players on top of our Origin players. We nearly pulled it off though.

        • I wonder why Hugo Savala didn't kick to Tupou more, both halves went for Tupou's wing a total of two times from memory and Tupou looked dangerous both times, seems like that's something that could've lead to a Roosters win.

Brandy isn't biased against the Roosters at all.

Marky wouldn't have scored his two tries.
We had success three times on the right without relying on a kick. We scored 5 tries to 4. Nitpicking on a bomb possibly winning the game is a bit far fetched.

That’s my frustration, it was 2pts gone begging.

                • Regardless of having so many players missing we were never going to win against the tigers. Gough the ref and bunker were clearly under instruction not to make it easy at our home game to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 75 GF and a team heralded as the best ever.
The NRL is no longer a game it’s more the case of “matches” when if a game they still aren’ t decided by the bounce of the ball but are controlled by dubious referee and bunker decisions and non decisions in the roosters case.
These are all part of the engineered comp that’s dictated by the media ownership and it’s tv schedule and pre game and post game media click bait stories whilst limiting players incomes. V”Landys and the Media’s quota of rule changes will lessen the longevity of players careers. They are now disposable.
The tall poppy syndrome alive and thriving within the insular NRL world. If the Roosters were officiated fairly today ( and any other time ) and won, then it’s not in the best interest of the Axis of Evil post match revenue to write up a powerhouse club full of rookies in overcoming adversity because the story wouldn’t generate revenue. I respect the club and our players however as a long time fan of many decades the NRL run by the nefarious V’Landys and his network of Evil has really turned me off . I was lucky due to my age to witness real games and competitions. The whole business model of the NRL/Media/Betting partnership has ruined a once fine game that deserves better with no salary cap.The players are slaves to the NRL.
No media identity will speak out of how the partnership control results over 27 weeks to get a desired top 8 because they won’t bite the hand that feeds them.

I should have cast my mind back to their last game where Benji's flamboyant style came good. This time they got the money. Be interesting to see if they can keep producing.
In between a couple of shockers, Tigers have lost 5 games by 6 or less some of these to top 4 teams. They have improved this year.

Historically the side hasn’t utilised Tupou’s aerial advantage as much as they should’ve. Even when they signed Cronk, I thought Tupou would be his biggest beneficiary from his cross field arrow kicks but save for a few very important tries and to this day, it rarely eventuated.

                          • Is Walker any chance this week?

I see we are short priced favourites again. The bookies might clean up again.

My understanding was that he’d be back for Rd20 as it was a 4 week recovery post surgery. I wouldn’t rush him back if he’s not 100% especially given the knee injury.

If we can’t beat the Dragons without Sam we need to take a hard look at ourselves.

                              • It still hasn’t sunk in that we lost to the Wests Tigers, what a bad loss..

We have lost a few we should’ve won earlier in the season, but this loss stings the most for me considering how desperate we were for the 2 points and how we are now back out of the 8..
