O ye of little faith !
Am I the only one who thinks the Roosters are a chance of winning the comp?
At least I have outlaid some peanuts on Sportsbet and stand to win a couple of thousand if the Roosters cover themselves in glory.
Trent has the team humming at the right time of year and there is a steely resolve in the team in the last 2 games that I haven’t seen all year.
On the back of some tough defence, the pushed passes are dwindling and guys like Toops ,when he gets into space, and Sammy are now willing to die with the ball , and instead mount pressure.
Is it the dawning of a new look Roosters side?
If the wheels don’t fall off tomorrow night, and the Roosters beat the Dogs, the team is definitely semi -finals bound.
Then, look out.

Whoever invented this “ golden point” sh#t is a farkwit.
Having watched tonight’s replay of Storm vs Riff , both teams deserve a competition point after 80 minutes.
The whole golden point fiasco results in stacks on the mill field goal attempts, and Klown’s discretion in giving an arbitrary penalty, to decide the game.
Can you imagine if your team is in the GF , and it’s decided like that?
Much better to do it the old fashioned way - extra time if a drawn result at full time, and in the event that extra time doesn’t separate the teams, then have an 80 minute replay.
At least the best team wins the premiership- it’s not decided by some whimsical rule invented in V’landys land.

Golden point shouldn't exist for regular season matches a draw should be a valid result but I think that in finals matches they go to 10 minutes of extra time and then in to golden point. The 2015 grand final was decided in golden point and I wasn't a fan of it even though the Broncos suffered
Going further in to the memory bank but I am sure the first ever golden point match was decided by a penalty goal which upset the media once again and it's why you rarely see penalties in GP and the whole thing becomes a farce.

Our for and against is crucial with the dolphins breathing down our necks. One loss and they can leapfrog us. They have Manly, Gold Coast and raiders.we have eels storm and souths. So it’s up to us now.“Soon will the present day order be rolled up, and a new one spread out in its stead”- (Baha’u’llah)

May get down to if we lose to Melbourne in Melbourne have to hope they lose to the raiders , so for and against won't matter. Melbourne beat Penrith and may have Jerome Hughes ,Warbrick and Paps to come back into that side...will be a big ask.Last edited by gragra; 08-17-2025, 09:10 AM.

I think all of our remaining games are tough. We are playing so well last three games we could be hopeful of winning all of them but equally all of those sides have the capacity to beat us if we put in one of our off days.
The bunnies will be up for us it’s all they have left and if they click in the right mindset which we know they will do for us it will be a heart attack to watch for us.
my nightly prayers routine is taking ages now Dear lord please keep Teddy safe, well and injury free, please keep Toops safe, well and injury free……. all the way down to the 21 listed on the Tuesday team list then a select few in Reggie’s as well. Victor gets three repetitions and I end it with please erase Chad from Robbos memory, five reps Amen.

roosters are paying 1.28 to make the 8 and dolphins are out to 4.00. i'd have us as likely to make the 8 but don't think 1.28 is good value - the dolphins' last two games are v titans and (probably) an understrength canberra side in brisbane on the sunday before the semis. next week's game v manly at brooky might mean whether or not we need to win all 3 of our games. would be nice if manly win today and still have something to play for.
anyway que sera sera. all the boys can do is play good footy and it's good to now know that if we keep winning we're in
