Im just watching a replay of the post match analysis on Foxsports & they're showing the Roosters dressing room (no sound just vision) & the thing that you can see from that vision is that Robbo is the Roosters.
Every person in the dressing room have their eyes on Robbo whilst he talks to the playing group.
He's like Wayne Bennett when he walks in the room everybody listens.

These young boys coming through have played years of 6 again footy which enables Robbo to formulate an effective playing system for the modern game. Compare the mobility of the young forwards with Lindsay Collins. It's like day and night!
PS. I love you Mickie.

Last night was fantastic. I said we could only win by being more enthusiastic than them, and I expected them to be a bit flat after last week. Honestly, that wasn’t strictly true. It wasn’t just enthusiasm that won it for us - we were just a much better football team.
Seeing some good stuff from E Butch which reminds me why I liked him so much when he debuted. He looks good.
Marky Mark unbelievable. I can hardly remember a more explosive player. He seems to surge and accelerate extremely quickly.
I don’t know if it’s concentration, fatigue or nerves, but we do need to fix up the back ends of each half. Particularly the seconds halves. Ennis was saying we’d be 1st if games ended at 60 minutes this year. That’s wild.
I was really happy for Dom in the first half—as one of his biggest critics. Was super physical, ran straight and hard, nothing stupid, used his pace, seemed focused. Seemed to lose some of that in the second half, which was probably my only sour note.
Sensational win and not even carried by a single player or two. Just a fantastic team effort, from a bunch of young guys who look hungry.
We’re high key one of the form teams of the comp. If we scalp the Raiders next week, people will really start taking notice.Last edited by Carlos Parra; 05-25-2025, 03:39 PM.1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs

Also wouldn’t have minded seeing Xavier Vaa get some more minutes but half he and his brother are both back for some middle depth during the SOO period
also they need to get a kick on soon as there are several young props coming through the grades who sound very promising

Not a usual situation based on set completion yardage when completing your sets, as usually, the 5th tackle kick is a ground-finding one to pin the opposition in their 10 and for them to ruck it out from the goal line. You are usually doing the same from your goal line on the opposition's end of a set kick.
High set completions are paramount, as we saw last week in the second half vs the Dogs with the Roosters up 14-0.
The Roosters lost possession on the first tackle and gave the Dogs an extra set on multiple occasions and eventually these errors (weight of possession) caught up with the Roosters D in defending these errors. Teams are unable to defend multiple sets continuously as, eventually, the opposition will capitalise on them as the Dogs did.
In this Roosters vs Sharks match, as per the NRL stats, both teams had the same number of sets in the match and each half - 40 each for the match, which is a very rare occurrence. The Sharks completed only 2 more sets in the match than the Roosters.
https://www.nrl.com/draw/nrl-premier...ters-v-sharks/
1st Half
Set completions - Roosters 68% (13/19) - Sharks 73% (14/19)
Sharks 1 more completed Set
2nd Half
Set completions - Roosters 82% (17/21) - Sharks 87% (18/21)
Sharks 1 more completed set
Full Match
Set completions - Roosters 75% (30/40) - Sharks 80% (32/40)
Sharks 2 more completed sets for the full match - even number of sets
Other Matches so far - These are full match stats
Dolphins 44 - Bulldogs 8
Dolphins 80% ( 36/45) - Bulldogs 64% ( 25/39)
Dolphins 11 more completed sets for the match and 6 more sets
Eels 30 vs Sea Eagles 10
Eels 88% ( 39/44) - Sea Eagles - 87% ( 35/40)
Eels 4 more completed sets for the match and 4 more sets
Knights 25 vs Panthers 6
Knights 85% ( 36/42) - Panthers 79% ( 31/39)
Knights 5 more completed sets for the match and 3 more sets
You used the Roosters high completion rate in the first half as the reason why they lead the Bulldogs 14-0 but can’t seem to provide a reason as to why the Roosters lead the Sharks 20-6 with a 68% completion rate other than something about tries scored off kicks.
My point is simply that completion rates are not as important as you continually present them as. I would rather have 20 highly quality, value add sets rather than 25 average sets.
High completion, minimal risk footy is only one way to play the game.

Sampson is a shocka yes.
At least Inane has dropped the Goodbye! shit from his reportoire. I'm pretty sure he was, at least, ridin us home last night. There were small moments between him and Ennis when you could sense the divide. Ennis obviously pretty cocksure about his Sharks, and it was fun watching his hopes be gradually dashed.
