Yes, we need Sandon to replicate his Anzac Day game.
If he does we will beat the Storm, but nothing is changing with DCE it's been a done deal for months.

I love Walker but I don’t view him as our saviour. We beat a few top teams with just our up and coming players while our stars and Walker was out so I’m not going to tear my hair out (what’s left) if he leaves. I’m more impressed with Savanna. I think he’s more what we have needed for a long time.

      • I've actually come around to the DCE deal - 1yr is perfect
2 would have been too long

Anything less than a premiership next year is a fail now however

        • If true re the coaching role with us - why would a bloke who has played at the one club his whole life (except a year with us maybe) - not want to coach at the his original club and give back.

Politis, cut while you can. He ain't no C Cronk. He is a sook.

Invest in the young dudes and invest in a coach that demands close to perfection from his players re no errors and drop balls.

          • it'd be odd if he left a club because he was pissed off with management and then immediately took on a coaching role with that club.
i'm on board with one year. he could help us win a premiership. as far as coaching goes he'll probably end up with manly at some stage

Simple reason is because he detests the now hierarchy of Mestrov and Seibs. Daly was tight with the Fulton's.
He's been wanting out for a while now and came knocking late last year.
DCE is no Cronk but he is his own brand.
As an opposition fan i have always watched on and disliked his smugness however, I've admired his skill level and football intelligence.

Who wouldn't want to be a young half and come to the RWB and be mentored by someone of his capacity.
Clever forecasting by Nick and co.
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

My gut feeling is Sam will move on and head North or wherever the big dollars are on offer. That's probably why we're investing heavily in Toby and others like Foley and providing them with a choice mentor in Daly.

The bold part is me 100%

just on the mentoring, it gets thrown around a lot, but I don’t see many players ever credit a guy who has been brought in to mentor players, or qualities passed on.

Chad and Cronk were both there to coach and mentor. Its a bit of a loose word in my mind.

The Johns bros and Cronk have been employed as halves consultants by various clubs post their retirement.

Pearce, dare I say, works with our development/junior pathways.

Chammas the other night indicated Cronk is stepping aside from mentoring, to concentrate on corporate endeavours.
                    Step right up DCE.

He had a falling out with Manly, might return one day but for now it seems he sees his future at the Roosters which is great for us. One year of DCE to try and win a comp and then hopefully he's on as a full time halves coach to work with Savala, Walker and all of our other young halves.

He's no Cooper Cronk but given his accomplishments and what he's done in the game he's a great choice for a player and coach. Welcome Daly.

                        Win a premiership?
Who, us, under this new "rugba leeg / V'landys ball" system?... of one ref, 6As by the truckload, "circus music and streamers" reffing, and joke draws?

Best of feathered luck to us, think we'll need a miracle or two.

                          Nah.
Takes time to build a premiership winning team.
First have to make the 8, then top 4, have no injuries, have a favourable draw and favourable reffing.
                          Repeat 6A sets in opposition's 20 after penalties...for example.

All the examples you just noted are more about luck as opposed to taking time, something we’ve been missing since 2019..

I’d say two things. Money and he has had a huge fallout for a long time so he doesn’t want anymore dealings with manly and he’s getting offered overs too good to knock back elsewhere and he has to think of his future after footy. He’ll take the best deal he can get for himself. It’s strange that after a decade he has no future with them or they just don’t see him as useful anymore. That can hurt deeply after such loyalty?

The club and players may also want nothing to do with DCE, has been a controversial figure for them for quite some time.
