I wouldn’t say he would end up there but you can’t say he never will, for the players it’s just a job.
If he isn’t offered a contract to what he believes he is worth or a team offers him (or any player) a contract that values him a few hundred thousand dollars a year more than he would seriously would consider going.

Most supporters would be the same, if an opposition company that I worked for offered me 30% more a year to work for them you wouldn’t be normal to not consider working for them.

The majority of players would love to play for the team they grew up supporting but I doubt most end up signing with that team and if they do they would be prepared to go elsewhere if it means staying in the NRL or setting themselves up financially.

if that's the deal then presumably we could deliver on that wherever he plays next year.

backflipping isn't nick's style but it depends on what the actual agreement is

How stupid can you be to state that DCE was the second best half in Wednesday nights game?
Cleary had about 10 runs where he looked dangerous with the ball, and Moses had about 6 -8 where he looked threatening and was about to pull the QLD defence apart. Add to that are a couple of try saving tackles by Moses.
Compare that to the zero threats offered by DCE and Munster.
Big deal that DCE put a kick up that almost resulted in a try - it didn’t. Anyone can kick a ball - it’s not real hard.

You are hallucinating thinking DCE had a good game - he is about to get dumped (mercifully) by Slater for SOO 2, if not, all of NSW will be laughing at their pop- gun threat for the second game.
You might want look at another recent DCE game where he was atrocious. He didn’t get into the statistics because there are no stats for “throwing crap passes that go behind your player when your team is in an attacking position “ or “ throwing crap passes that go over the sideline” DCE was racking them up in this match - it’s a recent Manly game.
Lastly , you say that I never take note of statistics. I Don’t think so , I only look at them when they are relevant. I quoted in a post , the second half stat of running metres in the recent Roosters vs Dogs game , posted by King Salvo - 941 metres for Dogs and 594 for Roosters , and I made the comment that the Roosters were never in it, despite other posters saying we were in the game with a chance.

I look at relevant statistics, not at irrelevant ones that you post - I like to ignore rubbish.

Anyway, I have said my stuff - I can’t be bothered continuing on the conversation with a deadset dope.
That was a hell of a rant — credit where it’s due, you really cleared your weekend schedule to settle a Facebook-tier footy debate.

But if your big insight is that DCE’s kicks “don’t count because they almost led to a try,” while Moses racking up a handful of half-breaks somehow makes him untouchable, maybe take a second to consider what actual selectors look for. Spoiler: it’s not angry forum posts about imaginary stats like “passes that looked a bit crap.”

Anyway, if you’re tapping out, fair enough — but maybe don’t call someone a dope on the way out when you just spent six paragraphs debating kicking difficulty like it’s nuclear physics.

I see your point KFR but comparing footy to corporate is very different, because of the passion and emotions involved.

I don’t think I could ever hate another company as much as I hate the Vermin!!

          • I’m hearing DCE is done for 1year (maybe 2)

Sandon is going & always was

No chance Savala is leaving & he’s happy to learn off him @ #14

Toby Rodwell will definitely be partnering Walker down the track with Savala transitioning into lock or backrow.

also hearing this is the best young crop of players we’ve had coming through for a very long long time.

DCE’s news has been positively taken in by the whole team & won’t cause any problems.

You are only telling us what we all already know. Got anything we don’t know?

You didn't "hear" that. You just made it up. He's had a handful of games as a kicking halfback, and you want to move him to the 2nd row?

                What nonsense.

Savala does not have the agility of other large successful halves, and still has more weight to gain. He will end up something like Isaah Yeo. You don't need an inside word to know that.

It went in one ear & out the other ear KFR
What you say is 100% correct
A poster saying "Hugo hates Souths & he will never go there or Nick would never let him go there" is fantasy stuff.
Players dont hate other teams liken some supporters do so like you said its a job & if another club is going to play you in FG & pay you more of course you would go.
One of Rads best mates is Cam Murray.
The NRL players are the 1 percenters of society & they just love playing against each other playing in rep teams together & hanging out together.

What a ridiculous comment. Which other "large halves" does he not have the "agility" of? And how do you measure these respective levels of agility, that you speak so knowledgeably of? A handful of ultra impressive games at 7, and yet we have fans who are already resigned to him ending up "like Isaiah Yeo". And it's all so obvious, how can anyone not see it.

Just complete and utter over-simplistic garbage.

A successful half needs to be more agile than the forwards who are defending against them. Otherwise the defensive forwards will spread a little and reduce the space outside.

Munster/Clear/Luai/Hughes all closer to 90kg. Moses a bit lighter. Wighton was 96kg but he was an athlete. Freddy also 96kg had an amazing sidestep. Savala has none of that at 96kg and it will get worse in 2-3 years time when he is 100kg. They would all run rings around him.

and before you respond again with more clueless abuse, name me a few successful halves who were over 100kgs. There is a reason halves have been smaller than forwards for many decades.

It doesn't matter, he is already slower than most of the halves in the game. It will only get worse. In a few years' time I would expect him to a bit over 100kgs and playing lock. The only way he plays halves in his late 20s is for a bottom of the ladder team, ESL, or reggies. Happy to put a wager on it.
