Nick and the club have been buggered sideways repeatedly over the years by people reneging on agreements, and we all know how much goodwill we have (not) received from the refs, NRL, media, fans and other clubs for our "we will not lie down to milk penalties" policy.

Circumstances have definitely changed and there is no way we need DCE, now or next year.

I also like your other suggestion - if Nick's conscience is bothering him, then give DCE a job "assistant coaching" or picking up glasses in the club for 700K per year. Nick can afford it, and it won't come off our salary cap or squeeze players we want to retain out of the club.

I understand people have the right to voice that they dont think DCE is worth it (& they maybe right) but if he comes to the Chooks (& I think he will) then it shows Robbo for some reason thinks we need him.
I feel sorry for Hugo & S Smith, 1 of them has to go because of Sam Walker & I think Robbo will demote Hugo & if DCE comes then both of them miss out.
Obviously DCE is coming & S Smith wont be at the club next year, what will happen with his career who knows but I think he will remain in the NRL & play say for example as good as what Verrills plays since he left the Chooks.
What will happen to Hugo, I think he would maybe stick around for a year & wait till 2027 to come back in to the halves but Im hearing from my Souths mate that apparently Bennett likes him.
