But now you advocate that he should step down from Origin, obviously because you agree that he is no longer SOO standard.
By default, your arguments confirm that DCE’s ability as a player is in rapid decline.
Hence, I said you appear confused, because you still argue that he is right for the Roosters, despite admitting that he is no longer up to scratch.
The majority of the public, Queensland fans, the Media, commentators, Manly and Rooster fans, think along the same lines, especially after last night’s SOO game.
To say DCE is a superior player to Hugo/Sandon is just your opinion, backed up by statistics that you quote, which I , and most others, don’t even bother to read. Sandon and Hugo have alternately had brilliant games this year, and because they are young and learning, the ceiling for both is unlimited. I would love to retain Hugo/ Sandon and Walker at the Roosters, as I believe they are special players.
You may want to read the Manly/Silvertails forum about DCE that is quoted and linked in this thread. Lots of Manly fans think that Hugo and Sandon are brilliant. Some of them even tip us to win the competition with our halves - they haven’t even considered Walker.
As for DCE, he is in rapid decline because of his age. His performances at club and rep level are ordinary.
Next year, he will be another year older and the decline will continue - his on field performances will be much worse.
I posted on the Chookpen , months ago, that DCE has done “nothing” for Manly over the last 12 years, and he would do “nothing “ for QLD in the 2025 SOO series.
I’ve been proven right so far.
My last prediction was that DCE would be playing reserve grade, much to the derision of lots of posters here, many pointing to his SOO / Australian credentials to support their case.
I will back my 3rd prediction- maybe by year end , or sometime next year , wherever DCE ends up.
Not sure I can continue this debate with you as you're not understanding basic concepts.

    - DCE is without question a superior player, go and look at the stats, DCE is better than both Sandon and Hugo combined for season 2025. That is factual.

    - I didn't say DCE isn't origin standard I said that the QLD Origin side should look to the future like the NSW side has done. Is Teddy no longer Origin standard? I think he is. They're sticking with Edwards though because he's a younger player that could be there for the next 3-4 years until the next guy comes through. QLD should do the same, put Walker in at 22 years old and build towards the future. Personally I think Munster should go before DCE does.

    - If you don't even bother to read the stats then this debate isn't really an intelligent one is it? An unwillingness to learn and see someone else's view defeats the purpose of being on a forum in the first place.

    - Not interested in reading the Manly forum to be honest.

    • Called it before last nights Origin that it’d be DCE last SOO appearance and he didn’t disappoint. He had an absolute shocker!

Second best half on the field though.

          • Moses deferred the play making and team control to Cleary so saying DCE got the better of Moses makes no sense considering they played different roles. Saying that DCE was the second best half on the field is definitely true but it isn't a flex at all considering only 2 players were playing the role of a halfback and DCE was the distant second to Cleary lol

That’s irrelevant as it’s DCE who’s linked to the Roosters.

                • If we can tell smith, may and young to bugger off with time left in contracts, why can’t we tell Daly to bugger off.

or do we wait until he’s signed then move him on so we don’t mess up uncle nicks handshake rule

                  • Luai will play game 2 and NSW will lap QLD.

Jerome is the best 6 in the game and then daylight.

Still unclear on what Daley was thinking with the Moses inclusion.

Unless Moses is injured Luai will not be in the side.
I dont disagree with you about Luai but Daley will not change a winning formula unless their is an injury.

                        $100 Luai plays game 2?

                          Not sure we need to.
The original poll was 20 YES and 42 NO
                          The NO vote won comprehensively

Would it make a difference if we were to sign him for $350k.

Some may see this as good value and would vote yes.

You have to be the biggest dill in history.
You put so much emphasis on stats - do you even bother watching football games?
Go to your back room , and pull out your stats for every player in the competition, in every game, and compare them.
You should have fun doing that
Meanwhile, I will watch football games , watch what players do and don’t do, and make my judgements based on that.
As do most of the followers of rugby league, fans on the Manly forum, Roosters fans, ex internationals who commentate , and coaches do - they watch the game.
There is no denying DCE is playing sh#thouse, you just want to gloss over that by quoting obscure numbers, that often can be manipulated to show just about anything.
Do you hear guys like Joey Johns , Phil Gould , Billy Slater, Laurie Daley or Trent Robinson quoting statistics ad nauseum when they assess their players performances?
                              Of course they don’t.
They just watch the football game, and judge on that.
The only important statistic for me is that DCE has created no tries for QLD in the last 2 origin games.
I don’t want to be drawn into your world of placing the upmost importance on statistics, because quite frankly it bores me.
I’d rather watch the football game, it’s far more enjoyable.

                              • For MKCS :
Is there a statistic for “weak as piss attempted tackle” ?
or another statistic for “let the opposition player stroll over our try line” ?
You might be able to see DCE’s non existent defensive effort on Blaze Talungi in the Panthers game , the non existent effort on Fanua Blake in the sharks game, and the pathetic arm grab on KL Iro in the Sharks game, which all led to tries.

Not that any of that matters - it’s not in the Stats!!!!

But I forgot, you don’t watch games, you just quote statistics, in assessing player’s performances.
I should be more interested in how many steps DCE took on the field in those games, rather than watching footage of the action. Then I can assess his value to the team.
