Good. He might have gone ok but he just isn't a Rooster for me.

Jesse Williams from the Dragons sg ball team would be a great signing...scored something crazy like 21 tries in 12 games incl 2x in the GF

As i said elsewhere Kayal Iro would also be another top purchase off contract

A relief really. While I’m happy to support whoever the club signs, there are some players who shouldn’t get to wear a Roosters jersey - Gagai being one of them.

I don’t think signing Gagai is about signing quality but rather experience and reliability.

If Tupou was to retire at end of season it’s an extremely raw and inexperienced three-quarter line, even if Tupou does stay on we don’t have a centre with more than 50 NRL games of experience at centre. It’s such a crucial defensive position, I can understand why Robbo is looking for someone he can bank on even if they’re not top end quality.

100%, grabbing Gagai in the current circumstances is a no brainer. He’s still playing good footy. Pity it looks like we’ve missed him.

I would go Blaze as he has the potential to play back - up fullback if Teddy is injured and maybe if he develops in a couple of seasons could be promoted to the spot full time

He’d be a good get, didn’t realise he was on market until Fox article this morning. Only issue is similar to the halves situation in that he’s also young and relatively inexperienced, but high potential.

I'm glad. Never liked him and can't imagine him wearing our great jersey.

Meh ... now to get back at Newcastle, let's go after David Armstrong

Kid looks promising and he's gonna be behind the pecking order when Ponga returns, etc

He would have been handy, but I just can't shake off the fact that he's an ex Souffs grub. I hated him when he was there.

Hopefully we are chasing the young bloke from Eels that declined them (Talagi). We have 0 depth at FB next year if Teddy gets injured or plays Origin. Our 2 best options in Manu & JS gone & then if we lose Toops we possibly have one of the worst, least experienced back lines in the comp. He’s inexperienced, but then it saves moving a Smith or Young to FB at least.

Yep awesome, we are now going to have one of the least experienced , poorest back lines in the comp. I hate the bloke but he’s NRL standard, whereas Smith isn’t in my eyes as he’s made of glass, Toia is Smith mark 2 & also young, the rugga bloke is untried, young & well a rugga player.

Very unlikely. Robbo prefers to recruit guys with at least 50 games, if not 150 games experience. Players like Reimis Smith, whom we are after or someone else at the back end of their careers are more likely.

From memory Gagai got out of the last year of his contract at Souths because his wife didn't like living in Sydney....so the fact he is staying in Newcastle makes sense.

As a player he excelled in the QLD jumper and when he was "on" was a great attacking player at club level. As a defender he can pull off a great front off tackle and then a minute later be a arm grabbing turnstile. He is the type of player that the Chookpen members would crucify!

His experience would have been a asset for us next couple of years but im sure Nick'n'Robbo wouldn't be too concerned missing out
