  • Dane Gagai

HS reporting that Dane Gagai is in the final stages of weighing up leaving Knights for the Roosters. Does this ad more weight to Toops heading off to Catslans next year. Realistically we have a very young, inexperienced backline next year with Toops & Manu jetting off.
Mr Rugby is untested & going by rugga standards probably has no defence.
Young is lightning & has class, but defence is lacking & still needs to learn.
Smith ,well probably the most fragile player in history so I never even consider him being a realistic option.
Toia is untested & following in Smiths fragile shoes.
Jennings the silver fox is better defensively but is depth & experience.
Not a fan of Gagai, but we lack experience,so if cheap I’d take it.

Yeah again, inexperienced. I think we need an older head especially in Origin time if Teddy plays again. We have no one capable of FB next year & Gags would be better than the other FB fill in options. We are going from having 3 quality FB options to only Teddy next year & think he can cover for injury & Origin.

Never liked him. I would prefer Reimis Smith or Nick Cotric.

You are absolutely entitled to your opinion but if I see Cotric anywhere near this side I’ll vomit. Such a horrible player.

I like the move. Played inside Young at Newcastle. Still defends well - that’ll only assist Dom who sometimes is left exposed by Manu jumping early. Good goal kicker if need be. Good size for an centre and runs hard. High work rate. Think it’ll be a very astute pick up.

There must be slim pickings if we are looking at this guy ffs.

Still we lose Manu and Suaalii and left with Billy, Pauga, Toia (an unknown at top level) and possibly grandpa Jenko who's hair will be even whiter next year and has gone from a ferrari in 2013 to a golf cart in 2024.

We need to get a couple of classy backs with the money we have. Lomax was the one that got away.

He did play for NSW lol. I may also be biased as he went to the same school as my kids.

I’m a fan, and I had the chance of meeting him at Eastlakes GC, great guy

He also has a standing combination with Dom Young

I think having a gay guy in the team would be very metro.

Considering the club has known about Suaalii going to Union since last year and Manu in the off season atleast as well as Smith always injured you would have thought the club would have planned somewhat better than they have.

                              It’s an interesting one.

personally I associate him with the stain of a club where he played before. It would be difficult to see him in our colours.

having said that, if he is professional enough, and brings his best game every week, he is an asset. Wouldn’t let you down and could provide good guidance for some younger players.
