Love Jake btw … but he wasn’t exactly an Origin stalwart you know

So who exactly have we lost that has been so debilitating to us? this team has been stacked every year since 2019 … where do you think all this salary cap sombrero bullshit comes from? people are envious of our lineup every single year … and you’re saying it’s still not good enough for top 4?

F*ck me … talk about a company drone sniffing the throne
    not sniffing any throne.

in 2020 we lost cronk so it was going to be hard to win the comp that year. if the panthers had flanagan instead of cleary last year they don't get the 3peat
in 2021 we lost so many players to injury that if i name half a dozen i will have still forgotten some
in 2022 losing friend, cordner, aubo and the morris boys was losing a lot of experience and we didn't adjust during the round robin but come finals time we were competitive and if not for injuries to manu and teddy etc might have won the comp. do we win the comps in 2018 or 2019 if we don't have manu and teddy?
2023 was a below par round robin and while we were less likely to win the comp once again we were playing well come finals time and if not for losing all our 3/4s we probably would have made the prelim. nearly made it anyway.

can't win it every year trics. but no matter, you'll stick to your guns

      This post should be pinned.
This is why I laugh at the uneducated.
Those that follow the team closely week in week out and not just looking at the scoreboard would realise we would have gone very close to a fourpete if not for the worst injury hit any team has copped since 1908. The last two years we had a few key injuries at the worst time of the year plus as mentioned the loss of many key players who would be the first picked each week. Again with a bit of luck with injuries and the gutless tactics of the filth we go to atleast the prelim.

Mate you can’t just keep blaming injuries every year as we slide down the table … I’ve lost track of the number of times I’ve seen Melbourne and Penrith field decimated lineups and still win … as two examples of superbly coached football teams

Both those clubs have absolutely owned us these last few years … we ain’t getting anywhere until something changes

I don’t think we have been any threat since Craig Fitzgibbon left us for the Sharks be good to have him back if they ever turf Robinson

I was wondering how long it would take before the Fitzy bandwagon got back up and running. The Sharks have looked good to start this year.

They have had a very soft draw to start the season though. From memory they got gifted one of the softest draws in the comp this year - only play Penrith, Brisbane & Melbourne once this year.

            • Sharks have exited the finals in straight sets 2 years in a row with fitzy

IMO our roster has been far superior to the Sharks for us to be considered a failure . I believe Fitzy was the defence coach and that was an area we we very consistent when he was here not so the last 4 or 5 years

I would agree that we have had a superior roster but I don’t think it’s a massive gap. Especially last year and this they gap has reduced, both have good rosters.

They should’ve beaten us in the final last year, we lost Manu & Suaalii just after half time (already had Tupou out of the game) and then lost Teddy to the sin bin and were 12-6 down with 15 to go when Teddy returned, at Shark park no less… we had absolutely no right winning that game.

                      • Without a doubt Robbo lost his way a fair bit got a few things wrong,,sklowed up the whole team's recovery. He did not adjust his team to the new rules or new way to play.
He I think knows for sure and now is implementing.
Our losses are what 3 or 4 games by 6 in most didn't play well and if not for a few refs calls we could have won each game . Most against top opposition except for the bullchocks..but yet again we didn't field our full sides either. We are still 5 players short of fielding our best as of last weekend.
I can give him the benefit to get it right.
Walker was missing for two weeks..I knew he would fix things up.
If the team is any good then they should not lose to has-been teams again.
Now lets give The horsies one up the ass on their home ground and the refs whistle against us for sure.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

Agreed mate. Those who've been here for the ride will know. There's a lot of details/nuances that it's entirely misleading to omit...

it's not so much that you want success and you want it now, it's more that you want success and you want it 4 years ago. what has happened in the last 4 years isn't going to change - and nor is the fact that robbo has won 3 comps.
injuries are always going to be a factor - take a look at the team we had for round 2 of the finals in 2021. it wasn't a premiership winning team.
the other years we had teams that could have won the comp and sure, we could have done better
