I've had an idea. Reduce the influence of the bunker, and put more onus on the refs decisions.

Each team captain has 2 challenges. One 'try' challenge and one general play challenge. The bunker only gets involved on captains challenges. The try challenge can be used either for a try awarded against your team, or a try disallowed for your team. If successful you keep or lose further challenges depending on the outcome, same as now.

It will mean some refs calls will be wrong and get through, but you have more continuity and decisions made in the moment in real motion, not slo-mo nitpicking. Bit like the old days with a caps challenge safeguard.

It's more pressure on the ref, but now they are lazy and sloppy with the over policing from the bunker.

Won't happen though, too fair an idea for the NRL, less control over results - bad for betting.

Also money from KFC would dry up - they want as many bunker interventions as possible to sell more chicken.

Don’t torture yourselfs.
My mate that follows Manly reckons Manly get no favours from the refs or the bunker.
My mate has hat follows Souths reckons Souths get no favours from the refs or the bunker.

This is not about getting favour, just about getting calls right.

yeah, although to be fair i didn't pick that one up on the day.

To be fair you also don’t have 15 Ultra HD slow-motion camera angles in front of your face and at your full control.

Just not an acceptable mistake for an offical to make while being able to review it. The on-field call was already bad and clearly incorrect in real time, but to be able to review it and then mess it up like that is disgusting. Whoever was in the bunker should genuinely have a few weeks off after that.

That entire second-half was horrendous. Storm should have lost to the Dogs, Titans and probably us as well.

I seen today's news 2 off duty police have been banned from NRL games for throwing stuff at Klein during the Storm V Roosters game. They should have arrested Klein for impersonating a competent referee.

This is not about getting favour, just about getting calls right.

The NRL has a problem allowing betting on games when dodgy calls from officials can decide the outcome of a game.
