It was brought in so as to manipulate game outcomes for the NRL.

The NRL takes a cut of every bet that's placed on the game via one of their major partners Sportsbet. It's called a "product fee" This figure for 2023 exceeded $13 million. So how much are Sportsbet making from the NRL?

Are you saying the NRL is happy to have only had 3 different grand final winners in the last 7 years? Or are you saying there is a benefit to the NRL for Penrith winning 4 grand finals in a row or even more?

Does it really matter who wins every year when your position is to make money for the game? If they were serious about evening out the competition they'd scrap the salary cap as it's not working and introduce a draft system.

Everyone says the game is strong when souffs and the riff are performing strongly.

Like Bates alluded to, it's about revenue raising.

Why do the Broncos always get Friday night games?
What benefit is it to the NRL if the chooks win, nothing, they know we are always strong.

The riff have a large population area and hence get a shiny new stadium.

              The lesser clubs get shite.

You’d have to be the most one eyed supporter to think we weren’t second best by a long way.

But in saying that, momentum is so important in Rugba Leag and Penriff are the most difficult team to get it against. The last 15 mins of the first half could’ve been very different had the try been given.
