Yeah what's the rule there?

Maybe it's just that it could have won us the game, but I kinda pike Union how the game's over when the ref decides it's over.

The last play is often a more theatrical, extended last play because the ball's alive basically until somebody cocks up.

Tonight was sort of an anti-climax because something like 5 minutes were wasted. That guy had his beef with us that caused a turnover... then while the ref had a 4 minute vox pop the clock ticked down. We played it and got smashed on the 5th... were in a position to have 1 last role of the dice (although Mini collapsed because he was in lala land) then after talking $hit for a minute the ref said "well I heard the buzzer so game over... Warriors win."

Surely:
1) The clock should have stopped while the ref was talking $hit.
2) Mini didn't play the ball... he was facing the wrong way and just collapsed over the ball because he was unable to stand.
3) Even with League's rules we should have been given our last play?

On this alone Banasta should be punted, atleast Morts will put in a effort unlike Captain Courageous. Shit the guy looks like he barely tries anymore and he's our Captain.

I to feel the Roosters get some rough calls but I accept that their will always be mistakes made by the refs during the game, I just dont put it down to the refs when we lose.

And if I thought their was some conspiracy against the Roosters by the League I wouldn't follow the game. I accept mistakes I dont stress myself over it.

Well it's mutual. Like I said, you are thoughtful, not a dummy, just a little too goody-goody when it comes to bending over the bonnet of the car to take a reaming from the refs. The statistics are on my side, something is fishy in ref-land with us. It's not too hard to conceptualize. Clearly Politis is no friend of Gallop. Rugby League is not like tennis, where the ball is clearly out or in. Engineering a result is very possible with creative interpretation of just how long is too long holding down a tackled player before a penalty is awarded. And I freely admit I am biased too, I love my roosters and get very protective.

The worst part of this call was that you could clearly here the other ref or touchie saying "Roosters ball, Roosters ball". You just can't stuff calls like that up.

Similar thing happened when they put the ball down on Mose's foot. The main ref saw it was a knock on but the other ref is yelling to him "penalty penalty".

They are either just guessing, don't know the rules, giving all 50-50s (these were 95-5s) to the home side, or you be the judge...

Still fuming, glad Smtihy and Braith went at it hard it was quite obvious all the boys became pissed off with it at certain stages through the game.

Smith won't get fined for that. He never accused them of bias or cheating. Just incompetence and being influenced by the crowd. No fine in that.

He rarely resorts to blaming refs so when he does its probably justified, last night it certainly was justified. With competent refereeing and better goal kicking we would have won that easily. Super frustrating game to watch particularly if you backed us at the $3.25 as I did.
