  • Now that crap is out of the way

...back to the real footy this weekend !!

If we don't come out firing and look like we are ripping in for each other clearly there must be a rift amoungst the playing group

IF we got beat by this line up after we got done by a pathetic Dragons line up something is hugely wrong and its a puzzle our Coach obviously can't solve

We've just lost to two teams running last and second last, I can't see how anything has changed, so we are no better chance to beat the Dogs...... at Gosford.

On current form we will get beat In saying that we do have a team more than capable of winning I am sort of on the fence on this one
I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

Because the SA Government paid the NRL for it. Its the reason why origin is played, its a cash cow for the NRL

Have a look at the team stats on NRL website..... in almost all the positive stats we are last or in the bottom 3.

            Points scored... .............Last
            Tries..............................Last
            Time in posession .... ...Last
            Set completions ...........Last
            Line breaks...... ............2nd last
            Post contact metres ......2nd last
            Tackle breaks.... ...........2nd last
            Decoy runs........ ...........Last
            All run metres ..............Last
            All runs..... ...................2nd last
            Offloads...................... .Last
            Try assists.................. ..2nd last
Line break assists ... ....3rd last...... YAH!!
            All receipts.... ..............2nd Last
            Total kicks..... ..............2nd last
Kick metres.... .............3rd last..... YAH !!

Everything else we are mid field, missed tackles, errors, penalties conceded etc, but we are flattered in those compared to many because we have had two byes.
We were very lucky to beat Souths, and St George on Anzac Day, we really could be last on 3 wins.
Disgraceful state of affairs for our club.

I feel like every week we see threads and posts like this. "If they don't win this week there must be internal issues" or "If they don't win this week changes need to be made". The time for change was weeks ago.

We have losses against the Cowboys, Dragons and Dolphins who all should have been easyish wins for us, we have been dominated against most stronger teams this year as well. I assure you Cronulla, Melbourne, Penrith and Souths are not afraid of coming up against the Roosters anymore but the roster we have should absolutely strike fear into all teams.

                Roosters $1.28
                Dogs $3.75

I couldn't back us at $1.28 with your money

Seriously? I'd have thought it would be a tighter market than that. I reckon the dogs are chance this week, given our current form and our usual poor showing on our mid season 'holiday' to Gosford.

No it neins cash cow not the nrls. Nein owns the rights to ori9in not the nrl. There is a cash swap and im sure that nein gets the gate less gov expensis/hire.

We are currently so God damn awful that I can't see us causing the upset and getting the win. The wooden spoon isn't out of the question at present.

Seriously we lost to a disastrous Dragons team ffs who can't get close to beating anyone - anyone but the tragic Roosters.

Souths and Melbourne are pretenders. Penrith are much weakened. This was our year!

That's drawing a long bow to say that losing games equates to a rift in the playing ranks - Souths have lost 2 in a row so is there a rift in their ranks -

All you need to look at is the stats in offense to know key players KPI's are down and the flow on affect that this has on other players when comparing the stats from 2022 to 2023 -11 games.

Some players are in different positions and are still learning their role and some are returning from long term injuries or disrupted pre-seasons which also plays a part.

You can fix your defence easier than you can fix your offense - If your so called spine are not creating the points and point scoring opportunities then naturally points will be hard to come by as others are reliant on them to do this.

Manu is one player outside the spine that can also create the points and point scoring opportunities as 2022 stats show if he gets decent ball that is which he wasn't getting so logically had to be moved to where he can get his hands on the ball

The Much maligned Butcher Brothers are certainly needed in the team for their D and especially when points are not forthcoming - both 80 minute players averaging near or over 40 tackles a game - Egan 38 and Nat 47.

Always amazes me that folk don't want them in the team as they apparently don't make the yardage they think they should but on the other hand they don't want Sitili seen as a yardage player in the team either because he misses too many tackles.

Some stats are incomplete as far as line breaks/line break assists go though but one would assume they are down as well in 2023 - if not in top 50 or recorded by the club they don't get recorded on the individual players stats - NRL Stats site

Good Post NSK... it is pretty obvious even for blind Fredy that there is an issue at the club, be it the coach as this is the person in charge of the squad. How can a team that performed so admirably towards the back end of the season last year with a patched-up team be so woeful the following season with a supposedly stronger team and in my opinion against a weaker competition. The panthers have lost at least 2 major players, the rabbits have lost a couple of notable players, the storm have been decimated by the loss of over 50% of their pack. Robinson is the "captain" of this ship and must take responsibility for our disheartening performances. His dogged determination in not dropping players that deserve to be dropped and promoting players that are doing well in lower grades is mind boggling. I have been following the Roosters for over 55 years and never have I seen a coach conduct himself in such a confusing and irrational manner.
