Beautiful weather for the drive down to Berry this afternoon, currently 26 c but feels warmer, just had a cold refreshing ale at the pub. Will hit the beach tomorrow morning as our hosts will be doing pilates.
Feel a very strange relaxed with this weekend away as though i havent officially retired yet i am not going back to work, also just giving our faithfull servant of a car it last long drive as bought a new car yesterday.
Felt a bit guilty as the old girl was still handling beautifully going down Mt Ousley, but its been a faithfull servant for almost 20 years but the time is right to move on as we cant get parts for it anymore and the air conditioning is almost gone and some of the electronics dont work properly anymore.i knowi will have more than a tear in my eye when we do the officisl swap next week as the old girl feels like part of the family.

It was a ripper of a storm that passed through yesterday, was at the Townie in Newtown having a couple of drinks and was about to go out for dinner but as we got outside the clouds were swirling and there was a bit of lightning and it just started to spit but had messages on the phone from friends who live near Menai and also friends from Bass Hill saying how bad the storm was around them and while waiting under cover for a couple of minutes outside the pub and trying to work out where to go for dinner the most direct bus home pulled up and thought stuff it, jumped on it went straight home, the rain got heavy on the bus trip home and got drenched between the bus stop and home but was glad to be indoors after that.

It has been. Good solid rain as well on the Southside.
The problem I’m going to have though is the grass is going to nuts over the next few days and I can’t get out and mow it.

Inyadda Beach aka Bendalong Beach is a swell magnet especially the north end. It picks up swell from every direction bar west.
Hundreds of dead Mutton birds have been washed onto the beach. Many do die from exhaustion during their annual migration however the amount this year is alarming!
They are suspecting bird flu so don't eat one.
Don't really hear of them being consumed here in Australia but remember seeing them in supermarkets in New Zealand on trays just like you would sell fresh chickens.
