We had more branches down last night, not as big as the first ones that came down but still enough to knock one of the clothes lines up the back out of the concrete foundations, its on a very interesting tilt now.
Hope your roof tiles held up with the wind.
Everything seems to be all good with the roof. Well not being experts on what the roof should look like it’s hard to be certain but there’s no missing tiles anyway. But with some of those gusts I was really worried it was going to do some serious damage. We had someone fix up the roof about 5 years ago too as apparently it needed some work with new ridge capping new sealant and some broken tiles needing replacing. There’s a huge mess in the front yard though with so much fallen bark and dropped limbs and debris from the gum trees. I don’t think it was quite as bad here as Sydney though from all the reports. Crazy that you’ve had more damage. You must be so over it by now! And yeah the BBL was a sellout too. What a disappointment for all those fans.

Hope you’re keeping safe tonight.

It was one of those days, hardly getting out at all yesterday just had to get out somewhere today, even though the wind was strong there wasn't any rain around so drove to Rockdale to seat covers for the new car. Ended up going out for a drink and have dinner out as there was still no sign of rain, managed to get home just as the rain was starting to set in. Wind is still wild and trying to watch the 5th set between Vucik and Draper at the Australian Open is almost impossible now with the wind pixelating the signal.

To close the loop on my story, we arrived home at 3am and it doesn't look like anything was busted. If anything, my tomatoes/veggies got a good watering while we were away, which is pretty sweet.
Thanks, still have to get up and have a look after the winds die down but the way the branch fell it looked like it missed the roof completely.Keeping an eye on the trees still yesterday and today as the wind is wild.

Crazy wild wind here today. Not good when you’re surrounded by trees and you can hear your roof tiles rattling.

Will get the roof looked at later when the weather settled down, hopefully there was no damage there, there is no signs of visual damage at ground level.

Lucky your flight from Brisbane wasn't any later or you probably would not have been able to land in Sydney either.

It was just one of those things just sitting inside and you hear a very unusual loud noise, i thought it sounded like the downstairs awning had been blown off but when i looked out the front window i only saw a small branch hanging over the electrical wires and within 20 secs or so it had blown off it, i though maybe a bigger branch had hit the roof then blown onto the street, its only when we looked out the balcony window that we saw at least half of one of the big trees laying across the drive way, some of it hanging on wires but at least the wires its on is only the old Optus cables which aren't used anymore, however it is still very close to the main electrical line into the building.
    Very scary.
