    • Sorry to hear the other thread went but the upside is we can post about other meals now as well as dinner. So now I'm allergic to eggs..LOL..along with everything else.. I've just made some fresh rhubarb to have with Greek yoghurt, strawberries and gluten free granola.

I live really close to our local Harris Farm and I get their weekly specials emails. This morning I came back with my Roosters NRLW bag full of bok chuy, cos lettuce, beautiful fresh beans not all rusty and some capsicum. The whole shop cost me $4.95

      • Almost had BBQ frog last night, seeing the BBQ had not been used for ages when i took the cover off there was a frog under it, managed to catch it and took it downstairs and placed in a nice spot in the garden.

Lol, that would have given me a fright.

I think I’ll pull a few leftover meals from the freezer tonight so a nice easy night for me.

Usually it is the huntsmen spiders which hide under the BBQ cover so the frog was a real surprise, i have seen frogs on our balcony before but not for a long while. Have a few leftovers from the BBQ but not much really so might snack on it for lunch.

Going to see whether the Maltese Cafe in Newtown has their rabbit specials on today as they usually have it on the last Sunday of the month, might head there for dinner if they have it on.

I would definitely prefer a frog to a huntsmen spider! That’s one spider that creeps me out.

Its funny with the huntsman, it is more of fright when you first see them as you are not expecting them, happy to have them around though as they keep the bugs and other crawlies under control.

The time i dont like them though was when we had the old car, one would appear on the wind screen and you are not sure whether it is inside or outside, especially not great on an expressway with no spots to pull over. Luckily have had no problems like that so far with the new car.

So true about the initial fright. That’s what it is. They’re so big and hairy but actually pretty harmless compared to other deadly spiders.

They are actually a beautiful spider once you get over the initial shock of one popping out of the blue, as you say they are completely harmless ( apart from the initial shock value of them popping out unexpected ).
I actually like having them around as they keep a lot of the creepy crawlies away.

                    • Had the rabbit at the Maltese cafe in Newtown tonight, it was pleasant, done cacciatore style, it was fine but i found the tomato dominated the dish a bit to much, still loved eating the meat off the bone, i gave it an 8 out of 10 but the dish i had with rabbit at Tiamo in Melbourne earlier this year with a lighter style white to cream style sauce was a 9.5 out of 10, so still need to find a nice semi regular rabbit dish in Sydney unless i try and cook it myself. Better half had veal in a white wine sauce, veal was a bit thicker than normal but was still so tender and the veges and mash were perfect with it.
Love the Maltese cafe at the North end of King St, their pasta 9 times out of 10 is good and the mussels in a tomato sauce are always good and they use the base sauce in a lot of their pastas, the nannata or white bait fritters are excellent to, they also have a store on the south end of King St which is a bit more rustic but still very good.

                        • Just taken some spag bol out of the freezer for dinner tonight as i don't feel like cooking. Had a really healthy burrito bowl for lunch today after the gym but just undid all the good work and opened up and ate half a big pack of potato chips about half an hour ago

LOL..I had avocado on toast this morning, gluten free granola with rhubarb, roast chicken with Asian salad and lemon juice then got the call about the promotion so literally cracked open the Magnum ice cream I'd been saving for the occasion (as I can't crack open actual magnums of champagne these days..LOL) and now I've just ordered from my local Bondi Tony's. He used to work in the music industry so there is our sort of music playing and memorabilia all over the place. The girls from my old apartment block come down sometimes and we just bring it back and eat it here. We did that the night I moved in as I was a bit nervous moving to a new place and we just ate on the sofa surrounded by boxes.

I picked up Olivia's Liv Wise book for $8 at the Lifeline Bondi shop and also one of Bill Granger's for $3. I watched his Notting Hill Kitchen show on 9NOW and they just brought it back online again. There are 10 episodes around 25 mins each.
