Some nice mulberries from a tree around the corner. Hopefully will get up to a tree in a side street in Newtown which is laden with fruit over the next couple of days to pick some more.

8 Chicken pieces
1 pack of French Onion Soup mix
400g can tomatoes in juice
400g can tomato puree
2 teaspoon dried basil
1-2 teaspoon minced chilli
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 chicken stock cube
Remove skin from chicken ( lovely legs are perfect as that job is already done ). Place chicken in a casserole dish. Mix soup mix, tomatoes and juice, tomato puree, basil, chilli, red wine vinegar and crumbled stock cube ( or stock powder ) together. Pour over chicken, cover and cook at 180 c for 50-55 mins or until chicken is cooked.
We serve it with mash potato and steamed veges.
There is usually enough sauce left over to freeze and make a great pasta sauce with.

I bought sweet potato from IGA on special yesterday. I regularly check all the catalogues and shop around for vegetable specials. I hadn't noticed about the potatoes as I rarely buy them. If I do, it's always the white ones to make home made steamed wedges with no frying needed. Green veges are cheap at my local Harris Farm and every weekend I get specials for around the 99 cent mark. I also bought a bag of 10 Odd Bunch avocados for $4.50 from Woolies Metro."Be good enough to forgive people but don't be stupid enough to trust them again."

Apparently there's a potato shortage and the price of the humble spud is set to skyrocket.
Climate change perhaps?

All good MR, i find with this recipe seeing there is only two of us at home i just use the one pack of lovely legs which usually contain five pieces., the first time i made it years ago i just used normal drumsticks and made it with eight but found the lovely legs are just so much easier now as all the work is done, you could do it with thigh cutlets also, With the tinned tomatoes i use the diced or crushed ones and not the whole tomatoes.

Just spent a week in Noosa, highly recommended locale restaurant, the spatchcock, swordfish ragu and spanner crab tagliatelle dishes were excellent.
bistro C, huge portions for every main, and just a level below locale, standout dishes were the duck, and the seafood pasta with bugs, prawns, mussels was huge and delicious.
sails restaurant was the fanciest and had the best position overlooking the beach, but the dishes just missed on the higher price point. Still worth a try, but the other two restaurants were better.

I want to go to the Fish Markets again before they move to their new digs and hunt down some good bugs and also get a few leather jackets as my local fish shop rarely stock jackets. There is actually doubt that the new markets will be up and running by Christmas so still have a bit of time to get down to the old smelly chaotic one before it closes.
