      The little surburban cake shops are the best. There are some lovely little places in Kogarah too. I'm sort of going to miss going out there but some of my new department are there, so who knows.

      She had some finger buns too. I go up and sit there and have a coffe every time I have a long weekend or annual leave as she's one of the bank's customers and I like to support her. She's doing a pop up in Martin Place now on Thursdays so I'll go up early and get my lunch and a muffin early at 8am when she opens to beat the heat and the crowds. Turkey baguette I think it will be with salad and cheese.

      • The block of cheese has almost gone, the saltiness of the cheese and the caperberries is divine, will have to have a rest as i'm quite full at the moment.

              I watched a cooking show today where they made roast chicken also with veges underneath. They stuffed the chicken with half a lemon and a long sprig of rosemary. Lots of salt to keep the skin crispy.

                Yes even though I thought we’d get rolled today we are drowning our sorrows on some fine whiskey. That last try was scandalous

                  Drink responsibly my friend..I do put my ice cream in a whiskey glass..they are Italian and from Peters of Kensington. They are just a good size.., I put fresh berries on top to be healthy..

                  I try to be zen about sport but that was %$^&*

                  Not when it's our beloved Roosters and they have held their heads up so high for 2 seasons..

                  • Constructed the first pizza at half time of the game, went down the ham and pineapple route but put on some extra fresh tomato. Think one will enough, should be ready in 5 mins so will see after that.

                      I need to detox LOL..back on the salmon etc as of tomorrow. No ice cream until my next long weekend in November. Need to finish putting together my desk bike tomorrow too.

                        The pizza turned out far better than i expected, putting on the fresh tomato was very good, a nice acidic balance to the sweetness of the pineapple and saltiness of the ham, using a better quality melting cheese helped to, really enjoyed it

                          Glad you enjoyed it. I do have some pita bread for when I feel like making pizza. Maybe next weekend. I'll just use cheese, tomato and black olives when I get some. Only have green olives in the fridge currently which I always add to salads.

                          I haven't ordered Pizza Moncur for months but as you said, the quality of the ingredients makes all the difference. They use really good proper leg ham shredded and not diced. I like mushrooms and olives on a H & P pizza also.

                          • I still order from my local Made In Italy sometimes and one i order a bit is the mushroom pizza and i get artichoke added, love that flavour combination and they don't skimp with the artichoke.
